Job summary

Jefferson Wells Italia is seeking a Field Service Engineer – Testing Machines to join a prestigious multinational industrial leader. The role focuses on on-site calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of materials testing systems across Italy, with initial training in Turin.

You will proactively identify service opportunities, train customers, and ensure accurate administration and reporting while maintaining cost-effective travel planning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma in a technical field such as mechatronics, mechanics, electrical or electronics.
• Experience in troubleshooting electromechanical/electronic systems.
• Proven experience in the same role.
• Awareness of costs and impact on margin.
• Well organized with good time management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; flexible, resilient, open-minded.
• Team player and customer-oriented.
• Good command of English (spoken and written).
• Willingness to travel frequently; initial training at the Turin office; travel area central and southern Italy.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of materials testing systems in Italy.
• Proactively look for leads for new tools/machines, accessories and other services.
• Advise customers regarding obsolescence and product life cycle.
• Report on competitive equipment and activities at customer sites.
• Plan visits and travel in a cost-efficient way.
• Deliver basic software training to customers when required.
• Ensure quality of own work and maintain accurate administration.
• Submit expenses and paperwork within required timeframes.
• Contribute to improving customer satisfaction, reducing costs and improving quality.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as required.

Field Service Engineer – Testing Machines

Tasks

• Provide on-site support for the product range, including, but not limited to calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of materials testing systems in Italy.
• Proactively look for leads for new tools/machines, accessories and other services.
• Be familiar with the company’s product life cycle in order to be able to advise customers regarding obsolescence.
• Report on competitive equipment and activities at customer sites.
• Ensure that adequate preparation and planning is made before each visit so that the job is completed correctly without the need for further follow up visits.
• Ensure that planning for visits including travel is carried out in the most cost-efficient way.
• Deliver basic software training to customers, when required.
• Reponsible for quality of own work and ensure all administration is accurate and up to date, to the latest company requirements using the tools provided.
• To submit expenses and other paperwork within the required timeframe.
• Contribute to the company's efforts to improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs and improve quality and other process’s as required.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as may from time to time be requested.
