Job summary

Deel is seeking a Country Product Manager for Italy to lead payroll operations and define the product strategy for the Italian market, focusing on payroll, HR, and time-tracking solutions tailored to CCNL, INPS, and regional variations.

You will build and ship a compliant, scalable payroll platform, coordinate with engineering, sales, implementation, and local compliance teams, and leverage AI to accelerate delivery while ensuring regulatory alignment across Italy.

Qualifications

• Experience building payroll or payroll product capabilities.
• Strong understanding of Italian labor law (CCNL, INPS) and regional variations.
• Experience leading cross-functional squads and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Define the product strategy for the Italian market across payroll, HR, time, and services.
• Lead an engineering team to execute the roadmap.
• Coordinate dependencies across Product (payroll engine), Time, HRIS, and Services teams.
• Break complex requirements into iterative increments and ship fast.
• Own relationships with key accounts and validate solutions with customers.
• Collaborate with sales, implementation, and local compliance teams to enable scalable solutions.
• Think entrepreneurially to build a market entry playbook from scratch.
• Leverage AI to accelerate build and ensure regulatory compliance in collaboration with local teams.
• Master Italian labor law (CCNL, INPS, regional variations) to ensure compliant solutions.
• Position Italy as the anchor market for Deel’s Southern Europe expansion.

In this role you lead Deel’s payroll operations for Italy, acting as the founding product leader for a greenfield market. You’ll own end-to-end strategy with cross-functional teams to design payroll, HR, and time-tracking solutions tailored to Italy’s regulatory landscape. You’ll balance ambitious market timelines with prudent prioritization while leveraging AI to accelerate delivery. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape Deel’s Mediterranean expansion and drive cross-country product alignment.
