Vodafone in Italy is seeking a skilled engineer to provide secondary support for the online charging solution within the Italy Services Operation team. You will ensure resilience, collaborate with operations, drive maintenance, and guide troubleshooting to prevent outages.

With 2+ years in telecom, you will manage vendors, support deployment of new technologies, and participate in 24x7 on-call activities to meet KPIs.

Competenze

• University degree in Electronics, Telecommunications or Information Technology.
• Min. 2 years of experience in Telecommunications in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with Telco service components and protocols.
• Fluent in English and Italian; strong communication skills.

In this role, you will provide secondary support for the online charging solution within the Italy Services Operation team, ensuring resilience and continuity of services. You will collaborate with first-line operations, drive proactive maintenance, and guide troubleshooting to prevent outages. You will manage vendor interactions for technical support and support deployment of new technologies. This role offers exposure to 24x7 on-call activities and cross-functional collaboration to meet performance KPIs.

• Perform incident troubleshooting and repair actions, including vendor escalation to restore service and performance
• Conduct proactive maintenance and health checks to optimize the network and prevent incidents
• Address customer complaints within SLA and provide end-to-end tracing and debugging of service platform components
• Analyze traffic, end-to-end service trends, and protocols to diagnose issues
• Share knowledge to raise technical skills across deployment and operations teams
• Introduce and manage cutting-edge technologies through vendor collaboration and on-the-job training
• Plan and upgrade service platform components with aim of zero incidents and quality onboarding of service requests
• University degree: Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology
• Min. 2 years of experience in Telecommunications in a similar role
• Hands-on experience with Telco service components
• Scripting knowledge in Linux, Python, Ansible (desirable)
• Database management knowledge (Arrowspike) desirable
• Strong understanding of telecom protocols like SS7, Diameter, LDAP, SOAP
• Experience in problem and change management, trace interpretation (Wireshark traces, logs)
• Knowledge of 2G/4G/5G, VoLTE, and microservices architecture
• Fluent in English and Italian
• Teamwork and collaboration across multi-functional and multicultural teams
• Strong problem-solving and incident management mindset
• Good communication skills in English and Italian
