Position

Hitachi Rail GTS is looking for a Bid Manager for Signalling, Operation Control Centre and Telecoms systems for Railway and Urban Transportation markets (Tramway / Mainline / Metro). The Bid Manager ensures the preparation of a winning Technical-Economical proposal within the assigned timeline and budget, while maintaining quality. The Bid Manager leads the tender process by coordinating all involved functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the overall tender preparation (offer or proposal).
  • Apply Bid & Project Management processes, methodologies, techniques and tools to achieve Bid objectives within the assigned time and budget.
  • Manage highly complex bids with multidisciplinary teams in national and international contexts, in collaboration with other Group Units (Bid Multi-Unit / Multi-Country).
  • Plan and coordinate Bid activities and resources, manage internal and external stakeholders, and ensure efficient bid management.
  • Manage the Bid process, including:
    • Collaborating with the Sales Manager to analyze the opportunity and define positioning and strategy aligned with company objectives.
    • Defining the tender baseline, coordinating and supervising preparation of all Bid contributions (technical, commercial, financial, contractual), and ensuring their validation and compliance with internal processes and client requirements.
    • Consolidating economical contributions (cost estimates and, with Sales and Finance, pricing and financial results).
    • Consolidating team contributions and presenting the offer to Management for approval; supporting commercial meetings and negotiations with the Customer as needed.
    • Ensuring a proper handover to the project team after order acquisition.
    • Managing communications between internal stakeholders and customers on bid matters (tender clarifications, corrigendum, cost/price reviews).
    • Ensuring compliance with company values, Code of Ethics, Quality Manual and Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) regulations.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Business
  • Proven experience in Railway Transport sector
  • Proven experience in Project or Bid management (or similar roles)
  • Technical background with strong inclination for commercial, contractual and financial exposure
  • Ability to work under pressure and lead multi-unit ad hoc bid teams
  • Demonstrated international exposure
  • Excellent Italian language (spoken and written)
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Results oriented with a strong drive in a team context
  • Availability to travel within Italy and abroad, including international mobility
