Job summary

JA Solar seeks a Technical Presales Manager BESS for Italy to support energy storage solution design and pre-sales activities across Italy. You will collaborate with Sales to deliver technical expertise, create solutions, and assist in tender processes for utility-scale and C&I BESS projects.

Responsibilities include product certification support, market monitoring, and ensuring technical compatibility within the European market. Travel across Italy and some Europe is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Physics, Power Systems, or a related technical field.
• Typically, 3–7 years of experience in PV and/or energy storage industry.
• Proven experience in BESS technical support, system design, or pre-sales engineering.
• Italian language proficiency (C1) and English proficiency (C1).
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical pre-sales support for BESS, including customer communication and solution presentations with Sales.
• Design and configure BESS solutions, including product selection, sizing, simulations, and cost inputs for quotations.
• Participate in tender and bidding processes; prepare and review technical bid documents.
• Support technical contract negotiations and drafting of technical specifications and agreements for BESS projects.
• Provide daily technical support to customers and internal Sales teams on BESS topics.
• Support evaluations of customer requirements, grid standards, and project feasibility.
• Serve as a technical interface between Sales, HQ teams and customers for timely communication.
• Deliver internal and external technical trainings for BESS products and simulations.
