Job summary

Primum Talent Group in Chennai seeks a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee loading and unloading of steel plates, verify incoming materials, and ensure timely dispatch per schedules.

You will manage daily warehouse activities, maintain records in IMS and Google Sheets in real time, and coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Dispatch for order execution while enforcing safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise loading/unloading of steel plates and materials.
• Verify incoming materials for quantity, quality, specs, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure accurate receipt and timely dispatch per delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with teams to resolve material discrepancies.
• Maintain inventory records, including GRN, material issues, transfers, and closing stock.
• Conduct regular stock verification and reconcile inventory with system records.
• Identify, stacking, and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss.
• Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or shortages.
• Manage day-to-day warehouse activities for smooth operations.
• Optimize space utilization and maintain organized material layout.
• Ensure housekeeping, discipline, and efficiency.
• Supervise warehouse staff and ensure adherence to processes.
• Prepare and maintain warehouse documentation (GRNs, delivery challans, invoices).
• Update inventory and material movements in IMS and Google Sheets in real time.
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly warehouse MIS reports to management.
• Maintain accurate records of petty cash and warehouse-related expenses.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Dispatch teams for timely order execution.
• Plan vehicle loading based on delivery routes, material requirements, and priority.
• Coordinate with transporters to ensure timely vehicle placement and dispatch.
• Track dispatches and ensure materials are delivered as per schedule.
• Ensure safe handling, movement, loading, and unloading of heavy steel materials.
• Ensure appropriate use of PPE and other required safety equipment.
• Follow established warehouse safety procedures and operational guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and applicable statutory and safety requirements.

2. Inventory Management

• Ensure proper identification, stacking, and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss.
• Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or shortages to management.

3. Warehouse Operations

• Manage day-to-day warehouse activities and ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Optimize warehouse space utilization and maintain an organized material layout.
• Ensure proper housekeeping, cleanliness, discipline, and operational efficiency.
• Supervise warehouse staff and ensure adherence to assigned responsibilities and processes.

4. Documentation & MIS

• Prepare and maintain warehouse documentation, including GRNs, delivery challans, invoices, and material movement records.
• Update inventory and material movements in IMS and Google Sheets on a real-time basis.
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly warehouse MIS reports to management.
• Maintain accurate records of petty cash and warehouse-related expenses.

5. Coordination & Dispatch Planning

• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Dispatch teams for timely order execution.
