Sakthi Renewable Energy seeks a Technical Sales Engineer to promote Residential Rooftop Solar PV systems across Chennai. You will generate leads, assess customer requirements, conduct site visits, and prepare quotations, coordinating with the technical and installation teams through project completion.

You will explain benefits and ROI, customize system configurations, handle enquiries, and strive to meet monthly sales targets while building lasting customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Diploma/BE/BTech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Renewable Energy or related disciplines.
• Candidates from other backgrounds with relevant solar sales experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Generate leads and identify potential residential rooftop solar customers across Chennai.
• Contact prospective customers through calls, field visits, and referrals.
• Understand customers' electricity consumption, requirements and rooftop suitability.
• Conduct residential site visits and basic rooftop assessments.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to promote and sell Residential Rooftop Solar PV Systems across Chennai. The candidate will be responsible for generating leads, understanding customer requirements, conducting site visits, explaining suitable solar solutions, preparing quotations, and coordinating with the technical and installation teams until project completion.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Generate leads and identify potential residential rooftop solar customers across Chennai.
• Contact prospective customers through calls, references, field visits, and other lead-generation activities.
• Understand customers' electricity consumption, requirements, budget, and rooftop suitability.
• Conduct residential site visits and basic rooftop assessments.
• Explain the benefits, technical features, savings, and ROI of rooftop solar systems to customers.
• Recommend suitable solar system capacity and configuration based on customer requirements.
• Prepare and share technical and commercial quotations with customers.
• Handle customer enquiries and provide appropriate technical and commercial clarifications.
• Follow up with leads regularly and convert enquiries into confirmed orders.
• Coordinate with the Design, Engineering, Installation, and Project teams for smooth execution of confirmed projects.
• Support the customer throughout the sales process, from initial enquiry to installation and commissioning.
• Maintain proper records of leads, customer interactions, quotations, follow-ups, and sales status.
• Achieve assigned monthly sales targets and business development goals.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with customers and generate referrals.
• Stay updated on rooftop solar technology, solar products, government schemes, and market developments.
• Address customer concerns professionally and ensure a positive customer experience.

Required Skills

• Good understanding of Solar PV / Rooftop Solar Systems.
• Basic knowledge of solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, and system capacity.
• Good sales, negotiation, and customer-handling skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel within Chennai for customer meetings and site visits.
• Ability to explain technical information in a simple and customer-friendly manner.
• Target-oriented and self-motivated approach.
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and reporting.
• Two-wheeler and valid driving licence will be an added advantage.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related disciplines.
• Candidates from other educational backgrounds with relevant solar sales experience may also be considered.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Freshers to 4 years of experience in Solar Sales, Technical Sales, Electrical Sales, or related fields.
• Experience in Residential Rooftop Solar Sales will be an added advantage.
• Candidates who are comfortable with field sales and customer visits are preferred.
• Chennai-based candidates will be preferred.
