Job summary

Mooin Automation in Maharashtra (Chakan) has a role for a machinist to operate conventional lathe and milling machines, reading engineering drawings, and ensuring tolerances and surface finish. You will set up machines, select tools, and coordinate with design and quality teams to meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate has ITI/ Diploma in Machinist or Mechanical Trade and 1–20 years of experience with lathe and milling operations, with strong measurement skills and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• ITI or Diploma in Machinist, Fitter, or Mechanical Trade.
• 1-20 years of experience operating conventional Lathe and Milling machines.
• Knowledge of machining operations, cutting tools, and tool selection.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and dimensions.
• Knowledge of Vernier caliper, micrometer, and measuring instruments.
• Ability to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
• Basic knowledge of machine setup and tool setting.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional lathe and milling machines to produce components per drawings.
• Perform turning, facing, drilling, threading, boring, grooving, and other machining.
• Read drawings, understand dimensions and tolerances.
• Select cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
• Measure components with Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, and more.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Set up machines, perform tool setting and align workpieces.
• Inspect finished components and maintain quality standards.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and keep the workspace clean.
• Follow safety procedures and quality standards.
• Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams to meet timelines.

• Operate conventional lathe and milling machines for machining components as per drawings.


• Perform turning, facing, drilling, threading, boring, grooving, and other machining operations.


• Perform milling, slotting, keyway, drilling, and surface machining operations.


• Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.


• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.


• Measure components using Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, and other measuring instruments.


• Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per specifications.


• Perform machine setup, tool setting, and workpiece alignment.


• Inspect finished components and maintain required quality standards.


• Perform basic machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.


• Follow safety procedures and company quality standards.


• Coordinate with the design, production, and quality teams to complete jobs within the required timeline.
