Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in CNC turning, CNC milling or VMC operating in precision manufacturing or automotive components.
• Freshers may also apply.
• Knowledge of reading drawings/GD&T is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC turning/milling machines to setup, load, and produce components.
• Inspect finished parts using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, and bore gauges to ensure specifications.
• Read engineering drawings, blueprints, process sheets, and GD&T notes.
• Conduct daily quality checks on first-piece and production runs within tolerance limits.
• Identify issues, tool wear, or minor faults and adjust speeds/feeds/offsets accordingly.
• Perform daily maintenance (coolant levels, lubrication) and uphold 5S on the shop floor.
• Safely handle raw materials and finished parts using manual methods or overhead cranes.
• Maintain accurate daily production logs, inspection reports, and job cards.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Setup, load, and operate CNC turning/milling machines for production tasks.
• Component Inspection: Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, bore gauges) to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Drawing Reading: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, process sheets, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) notes.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on first-piece and production runs, maintaining strict tolerance limits.
• Troubleshooting: Identify operational issues, tool wear, or minor mechanical faults during machining and make necessary adjustments (offsets, speed, feed).
• Maintenance & Cleanliness: Perform daily basic maintenance (coolant levels, lubrication, chip removal) and adhere to 5S practices on the shop floor.
• Material Management: Safely load and unload raw materials and finished parts manually or using overhead cranes/hoists.
• Documentation: Maintain daily production logs, inspection reports, and job cards accurately.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: ITI in Turner / Fitter / Machinist / Tool & Die OR Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering. B.E. Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in CNC turning, CNC milling, or VMC operating within a precision manufacturing or automotive component industry.
