Job summary

Bestal Hr is seeking an experienced Unit Head to oversee end-to-end cinema operations, focusing on revenue, profitability, guest experience and team performance across high-volume venues.

Responsibilities include managing box office, F&B, front-of-house, projection and maintenance while ensuring safety, compliance and operational excellence. You will lead staffing, training and local marketing initiatives to drive bookings and events.

• Ensure smooth execution of all shows, screenings, events and daily operations.
• Monitor standards, SOP compliance, safety, hygiene and statutory requirements.
• Aim for optimum manpower utilization and efficient use of resources.
• Own the overall P&L and financial performance of the cinema unit.
• Drive revenue through ticket sales, F&B, advertising, events and other streams.
• Maintain high guest experience, cleanliness, safety and service quality.
• Lead recruitment, training, coaching, performance management and retention of staff.
• Drive local sales and marketing initiatives, promotions and partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with legal, safety, fire, security and hygiene regulations.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Unit Head to lead the end-to-end operations of a

cinema property. The Unit Head will be responsible for driving revenue, profitability, operational

excellence, customer experience, and team performance across the cinema.

The role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and hands-on experience in managing high-

volume cinema, hospitality, retail, QSR, or entertainment operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cinema Operations

• Manage the complete day-to-day operations of the cinema unit, including box office, food & beverage, front-of-house, projection, housekeeping, maintenance, and security.
• Ensure smooth execution of all shows, screenings, events, and daily operations.
• Monitor operational standards, SOP compliance, safety, hygiene, and statutory requirements.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, facilities, and resources.

2. Business & Financial Management

• Own the overall P&L and financial performance of the cinema unit.
• Drive revenue through ticket sales, Food & Beverage, advertising, events, and other revenue streams.
• Achieve monthly and annual revenue, profitability, and cost-control targets.
• Monitor budgets, operating expenses, margins, and identify opportunities to minimize operational costs.
• Analyze business performance and implement corrective action wherever required.

3. Customer Experience

• Ensure consistently high standards of guest experience, hospitality, cleanliness, safety, and service quality.
• Monitor customer feedback, complaints, and service recovery.
• Drive initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, repeat visits, and overall brand experience.

4. Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead, motivate, and manage the complete cinema team.
• Plan manpower requirements, staff scheduling, deployment, and productivity.
• Ensure effective recruitment, training, coaching, performance management, and retention of employees.
• Build a strong service-oriented culture and ensure high employee engagement.
• Maintain discipline and ensure compliance with company policies.

5. Sales & Local Marketing

• Drive local sales and revenue-generation initiatives for the cinema.
• Work closely with the marketing team to execute local promotions, campaigns, events, partnerships, and customer engagement activities.
• Identify opportunities for corporate bookings, group sales, events, and other business avenues.
• Monitor competitor activity and local market trends.

6. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, statutory, safety, fire, security, hygiene, and operational regulations.
• Conduct regular audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
• Maintain emergency preparedness and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

7. Maintenance & Facility Management

• Coordinate with technical and maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted cinema operations.
• Ensure timely preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Monitor the overall upkeep and presentation of the cinema property.

Preferred Experience
