Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are hiring a GeM Expert Tender Executive with proven, well-rounded experience handling tenders and bids across multiple material/goods supply categories on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal. The ideal candidate should be a hands-on expert in end-to-end tender lifecycle management — from tender identification and bid preparation to order execution — across diverse product/material categories, and should be comfortable adapting quickly to new categories as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities

Tender & Bid Management

• Track, shortlist, and evaluate GeM tenders and bid/RA opportunities on a daily basis across multiple material/product supply categories (e.g., construction material, electrical/electronic goods, industrial supplies, office/stationery items, safety equipment, furniture, etc.).
• Prepare and submit technically and commercially compliant bids within tender deadlines, ensuring accurate documentation, EMD/Bid Security Declaration, and pricing.
• Participate in Reverse Auctions (RA) with a strategic pricing approach to maximize win ratio while maintaining profitability.
• Analyze tender terms & conditions (T&C), eligibility criteria, and technical specifications to determine bid feasibility for each category.

Category & Catalogue Management

• Manage and update product catalogues across different material categories with correct specifications, HSN codes, pricing, and brand/OEM approvals.
• Coordinate with vendors/OEMs to onboard new categories/products onto GeM as per business requirements.
• Maintain category-wise knowledge of GeM guidelines, since specifications and compliance requirements vary across product types.
• Coordinate with OEMs for product pricing, quotations and commercial terms.
• Compare tender requirements with available OEM products.
• Identify suitable products/models against tender specifications.
• Maintain updated records of OEMs, products, pricing and relevant certifications.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure adherence to GeM policies, Seller Assessment, MSE/Startup norms, and Bid Security guidelines across all categories handled.
• Maintain detailed MIS/trackers on tenders applied, won, lost, and under-execution, along with category-wise performance analysis.
• Stay updated on GeM policy changes, new category launches, and portal updates relevant to the categories being handled.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred but not mandatory).
• 3+ years of proven experience as a Tender Executive on the GeM portal, with demonstrated exposure to multiple/diverse material/product supply categories (not limited to a single product line).
• Strong understanding of government tendering, e-procurement processes, and Reverse Auctions.
• Working knowledge of GST, HSN codes, costing, and pricing strategy across varied product categories.
• Strong analytical skills to quickly assess new categories, tender documents, and technical specifications.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to liaise with buyers, OEMs, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ability to multi-task and manage a high volume of tenders/bids simultaneously across categories.
