Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO seeks a Team Lead of Technical Writers to manage resources and ensure high-quality documentation for MT LAB instruments. You will lead a team, coordinate with multiple departments, and drive standards across documentation projects.

The role requires strong leadership, project management, and a commitment to quality documentation, with travel for training and stakeholder exchanges as needed. Powai, Mumbai-based role, offering global collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
• 10-12+ years of experience in Technical Writing.
• Proficiency in Simplified Technical English, Quanos Content Solutions and Schema ST4 with relevant certifications.
• Experience handling end-to-end documentation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical writing team, overseeing resource planning and task allocation.
• Drive project management, timelines, and quality for MT LAB instruments.
• Promote standardization and best practices across the documentation team.
• Oversee translations for UI and documents with external collaborators.
• Manage documentation tools, databases, and archival processes.

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The position is Team Lead of technical writers, managing project resources and ensuring the efficient production of high-quality documentation for MT LAB instruments. This role requires strong leadership skills, project management expertise, and a commitment to producing high-quality technical documentation.

Team Leadership

• Being the primary contact for resource planning, project estimates, and task allocation.
• Manage HR tasks and support for the team's needs.
• Organize team meetings and one-on-ones to keep members informed and engaged.

Resource and Project Management

• Act as the primary contact for resource planning and project distribution.
• Monitor project timelines and identify potential bottlenecks.
• Lead the establishment of a technical documentation team, ensuring adherence to documentation standards.

Standardization and Collaboration

• Address standardization issues and promote best practices among the documentation team.
• Collaborate with other departments to align technical documentation efforts.

Translation Oversight

• Oversee translation processes for user interfaces and documents, ensuring quality and efficiency and coordinate UI translations with externals.

Documentation and Tools Management

• Maintain and manage a document database for proper tracking and archival.
• Ensure accurate documentation creation, including service manuals and compliance content.
• Implement improvements in documentation tools and processes.

Compliance and Communication

• Track compliance-related documentation requirements and address any requests from the compliance team.
• Represent the technical documentation perspective in cross-project initiatives, ensuring documentation needs are met.

What You Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualification / Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering.
• Proven 10 - 12+ years of working experience in Technical Writing.
• Proficiency in Simplified Technical English, Quanos Content Solutions and Schema ST4 with the relevant certifications.
• Knowledge and experince of handling end-to-end project of dcoument creation is desired.
• Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
• Ability to work independently as well as with teams across matrix.
