The company has growing GCP investments particularly in telecom (TechM's largest client vertical), retail, and healthcare — driving steady GCP intern demand.Hyderabad's Tech Mahindra campus in Madhapur/Gachibowli houses substantial cloud-native engineering capability, plus the Makers Lab Hyderabad innovation centre where some GCP-focused interns are placed for emerging-tech work (5G-on-GCP, edge computing with Cloud IoT, GCP Vertex AI integrations for digital transformation projects).Internship duration is flexible — semester-long (4-6 months) for students in their pre-final year, summer-only (8-10 weeks) for final-year students. Both formats have high PPO conversion paths to Tech Mahindra Software Engineer at ₹3.25-4.5 LPA, with accelerated paths for Digital track high-performers to Senior Software Engineer at ₹6-9 LPA after 2-3 years.

Responsibilities

Tech Mahindra GCP intern responsibilities: Building Java backend services with Spring Boot 3.x — REST APIs, Spring Data JPA against Cloud SQL or Spanner (for highly scaled telecom workloads), Spring Security with Google Identity. Containerizing services with multi-stage Dockerfiles optimized for Cloud Run and GKE deployment. Integrating with GCP managed services — Pub/Sub for telecom event streaming, Firestore for low-latency NoSQL, BigQuery for analytics on telecom traffic data, Cloud Storage for logs and blobs, Secret Manager for credentials, Cloud Monitoring + Cloud Trace for observability. Writing Cloud Build YAML pipelines or migrating client projects from Jenkins to Cloud Build. Writing Terraform modules for GCP infrastructure. Pair-programming with senior Tech Mahindra engineers. Attending Tech Mahindra Learning programs for GCP foundations. Presenting your internship work at the closing showcase, with Makers Lab interns potentially presenting to internal innovation committees. Intern feedback and growth: weekly 1:1 with your assigned mentor, fortnightly review with the engineering manager, end-of-internship 360-degree review. Performance feedback is concrete and structured — you know exactly where you stand and what to improve before the PPO decision.

Requirements

Currently pursuing B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech in CSE, IT, or related engineering disciplines — graduating in 2026, 2027, or 2028 depending on internship length. CGPA 7.0+, no active backlogs. Strong Java foundations (Java 17 preferred), comfort with Spring Boot basics, familiarity with one cloud (GCP preferred but AWS or Azure depth equally valuable). Git fluency, basic SQL, basic Linux command-line. Bonus: Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer certification, prior GCP deployments, Docker fluency, GitHub portfolio with at least one Spring Boot project, interest in emerging tech (5G, IoT, edge, Vertex AI) for Makers Lab placements. Legal and academic eligibility: you must be enrolled in an accredited Indian or recognised foreign university and present a no-objection certificate from your institution for the internship period. Tech Mahindra sponsors visa and relocation support where applicable but most candidates from Hyderabad-area institutions can attend from existing residence.
