Google Software Engineering Internship — Summer 2026 (10-12 weeks). Build Java Spring Boot services on Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery). Hyderabad and Bengaluru positions open.
Google Software Engineering Internship is an undergraduate internship conducted in Google’s Hyderabad office in the Financial District, an engineering center outside Mountain View. Interns typically contribute to Google Cloud, Search, Ads, and Workspace product surfaces.
Designing and implementing Java backend services using Spring Boot or Google’s internal frameworks. Deploying services to Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Cloud Run, integrating with GCP managed services — Pub/Sub for async messaging, Firestore or Spanner for storage, BigQuery for analytics, Cloud Storage for blob data, Cloud KMS for key management. Writing comprehensive unit and integration tests with JUnit, Mockito, and Google’s test infrastructure. Going through Google’s rigorous code review process (CL — “changelist” — review) where every line of code is scrutinised by 2-3 senior engineers, attending tech talks, engineering education sessions, and 1:1 mentorship with your designated host engineer. Presenting your internship project at the Google Hyderabad intern showcase. Weekly 1:1 with your assigned mentor, fortnightly review with the engineering manager, and end‑of‑internship 360‑degree review.
Currently pursuing B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/MS in CSE, EE, IT, or related disciplines — graduating in 2026 or 2027. CGPA 8.5+ is the typical threshold for Google interviews. No active backlogs. Exceptional algorithmic problem‑solving — LeetCode Medium‑Hard fluency is the practical bar. Solid Java fundamentals; Spring Boot exposure is a significant plus. Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (GCP preferred but AWS/Azure depth equally valuable). Strong communication, technical writing, and code‑review discipline. Bonus: GitHub portfolio with non‑trivial projects, prior internship at any Google‑comparable tier company, competitive programming background (Codeforces, ICPC), open‑source contributions. Legal and academic eligibility: you must be enrolled in an accredited Indian or recognised foreign university and present a no‑objection certificate from your institution for the internship period. Google sponsors visa and relocation support where applicable but most candidates from Hyderabad‑area institutions can attend from existing residence.
Compensation includes monthly stipend in the range listed above, free meals at the campus cafeteria, free transportation (where applicable), access to Google’s internal learning platforms (LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, Pluralsight, A Cloud Guru, official Google learning paths), mentorship, performance feedback, and a strong likelihood of converting to a full‑time offer.
