Job summary

OPT IT in Bengaluru, India is seeking an L1 System Administrator to monitor IT infrastructure, provide first-line technical support, and resolve routine system, user-access, and connectivity issues.

You will monitor servers, backups, antivirus, and alerts; perform basic troubleshooting on Windows and Linux; manage user accounts and AD tasks; and assist with software installations and patching. Strong communication and documentation skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or diploma in IT, CS, or related field.
• Windows and Linux basics with Active Directory and MS 365 familiarity.
• Experience with ITSM/ticketing and basic network troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor servers, backups, antivirus, and infrastructure alerts.
• Perform basic troubleshooting for Windows/Linux systems, applications, hardware, and networks.
• Manage user accounts, password resets, permissions, and basic AD tasks.
• Install, configure, patch, and maintain desktops, servers, and software.
• Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, email, and connectivity issues.
• Log, track, and update incidents through ITSM/ticketing tools.
• Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams and maintain support documentation.

Educational Qualifications

Any technical degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred

• Exposure to Linux administration is a plus.
• ITIL Foundation certification is an advantage.
