Job summary

OPT IT in Bengaluru is seeking a Windows L1 Engineer to provide first-level IT support, monitor systems, and resolve basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues. You will handle desktop, laptop, printer support and basic network troubleshooting.

The role requires knowledge of Windows OS, AD, MS 365, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP, plus strong communication. Exposure to ITSM tools and remote support is a plus. A technical diploma or degree is expected; CompTIA A+ is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in Windows-based desktop support and basic troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Active Directory tasks and user account management.
• Able to troubleshoot network and connectivity issues including VPN and email.
• Customer-focused communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide L1 support for Windows desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and applications
• Perform basic Active Directory tasks, user account management, and password resets
• Troubleshoot network, VPN, email, and Microsoft 365 issues
• Monitor system alerts, backups, and infrastructure health
• Log and track incidents using ITSM/ticketing tools
• Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams and maintain support documentation

Educational Qualifications

Any technical degree or diploma in IT or Computer Science.

Preferred

• Exposure to Microsoft 365 administration is a plus.
• CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification is an advantage.
