Job summary

Vardhman Special Steels (VSSL) in Ludhiana, Punjab, invites applications for a Stores/Inventory Manager with 12–15 years of experience in mechanical materials handling. The role focuses on managing receipt, storage, and issue of materials, ensuring accurate ERP/SAP transactions and optimal stock levels.

You will lead a Stores team, maintain FIFO/FEFO, and coordinate with Purchase, Production, Maintenance, Quality, Finance and Logistics to ensure timely material availability.

Qualifications

• Manage receipt, storage, preservation and issue of raw materials, consumables, spares, tools and finished goods.
• Ensure accurate inventory control, stock reconciliation and ERP/SAP transactions.
• Maintain optimum stock levels and minimise inventory carrying cost, shortages and obsolete stock.
• Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO, material identification, bin management and traceability.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Maintenance, Quality, Finance and Logistics for timely material availability.
• Monitor GRN, material inspection, issue/return, transfer and dispatch.
• Conduct periodic physical stock verification and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, 5S and internal control requirements.
• Lead the Stores team, improve productivity and implement process/system improvements.
