Job summary

Eastern Petroleum in Panvel, Maharashtra is seeking an Inventory/Stores professional responsible for incoming material receipt, storage, issue, and stock updates in tally. You will coordinate with Supply Chain, QA, and Production to ensure timely material availability and accurate documentation.

The role requires strong ERP skills (SAP/Tally), rigorous record-keeping, and adherence to safety regulations for chemicals.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Will be responsible for the incoming material receipt, proper storage of material, material issue. Stock updating entries in systems (tally), maintain all relevant records about inventory etc. Check for damage/shortage and prepare report also should have knowledge about bin card system.
• Conduct regular stock checks, cycle counts, and physical verification.
• Monitor minimum/maximum stock levels and raise requisitions accordingly.
• Track material expiry dates and ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) / First-Expire-First-Out (FEFO).
• Day to Day coordination with Supply chain team for timely receipt of RM, PM and FG dispatch.
• Plan optimum labour utilization based on forecasted incoming material.
• Cross Functional co-ordination with Quality and Production department to clear the incoming material and uploading the stock entries in tally.
• Should be able to carry out fortnightly and monthly Physical stock verification.
• Should possess thorough knowledge of JOB work activities to be carried out on returnable and non-returnable basis.
• Escalate of damage/shortage receipt of material and share report of the same to QA/Purchase department.
• Should possess knowledge of engineering items, its segregation and keeping in systematic manner.
• Monitor & control of material receipts and FG dispatches.
• Timely issue of RM, PM, engineering items to respective depts.
• Compliance to statutory regulations related to 100% EOU.
• Timely data entries in tally related to receipts, issues and dispatches.
• Daily, weekly, monthly reconciliation of material, System vs physical stock verification.
• Monitor and control vehicle movement in the factory to minimize vehicle detention charges.
• Formulate, monitor, review and control budget related to stores, executing cost saving technique/measures for potential savings.
• ISO 9000, 14000 and 18000 compliances.
• Inventory control as per the set guidelines for SFG/FG and Engineering spares.
• Knowledge of job work procedure and responsible for sending specific material to external vendors for processing etc.,

Issuance & Dispatch

• Issue raw materials, packing materials, and consumables as per approved requisition/slip.
• Coordinate with production and quality control teams for timely availability of materials.
• Prepare delivery challans, GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), and dispatch documents.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow proper handling procedures for hazardous and flammable chemicals.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (Factories Act, Pollution Control, Fire & Safety guidelines).
• Maintain MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) records for all chemicals.
• Use proper PPEs and ensure staff follows EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) norms.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain inward/outward registers, stock ledgers, and computerized records.
• Coordinate with accounts for invoices, purchase bills, and vendor documentation.
• Prepare monthly stock reports and highlight shortages, near-expiry, and non-moving items.
