Job summary

Mtar Technologies in Telangana, India is seeking an experienced Stores Manager to oversee complete stores and inventory operations in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on metallic raw materials, inventory accuracy and material traceability for production readiness.

The role requires hands-on management of stores, materials handling, ERP/SAP proficiency, cycle counts, audits support, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure timely material availability and compliance with 5S

Qualifications

• Minimum experience in Stores/Warehouse/Inventory in manufacturing.
• Hands-on with metallic raw materials and traceability.
• Experience using ERP/SAP and MS Excel for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day stores and warehouse operations, including material receipt, storage, issue, transfer and dispatch.
• Handle metallic raw materials such as SS, MS, Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel, Titanium, Nickel Alloys and other engineering materials.
• Ensure proper identification and segregation of materials based on grade, specification, size, heat number and batch number.
• Maintain complete material traceability from receipt to issue.
• Ensure proper receipt and documentation of materials, including GRN and MTCs.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular physical stock verification and cycle counts.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure timely availability of materials as per production requirements.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Planning, Quality, Finance and Logistics teams for material availability and movement.
• Manage raw material yards and storage areas, ensuring proper space utilization and material handling.
• Monitor excess, obsolete, slow‑moving and non‑moving inventory.
• Ensure proper material handling and storage practices to prevent damage, mixing and contamination.
• Manage inter‑unit material transfers and maintain proper documentation.
• Prepare regular inventory and stores MIS for management.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, stock variance, material availability and other Stores KPIs.
• Lead and supervise the Stores team and ensure effective manpower utilization.
• Ensure compliance with 5S, safety procedures and established stores SOPs.
• Support internal, customer and statutory audits related to stores and inventory.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in inventory control, material handling, storage and warehouse processes.

Role Overview

Required Experience & Skills

• 812 years of relevant experience in Stores / Warehouse / Inventory Management in a manufacturing environment.
• Mandatory experience in handling metallic raw materials.
• Good understanding of metal grades, specifications, sizes and material identification.
• Experience in heat number / batch traceability and MTC documentation.
• Experience in managing raw material stores / material yards.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, stock reconciliation and material movement.
• Working knowledge of ERP/SAP or similar systems.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and MIS reporting.
