Synergy Shipping in Visakhapatnam, India, seeks an experienced Spare Parts Store Manager to oversee end-to-end procurement, inventory control, and timely distribution of motor vehicle spare parts to vehicles, field units, and dependent departments. The role focuses on maintaining optimal stock levels while minimizing holding costs and downtime.

The successful candidate will source suppliers, raise POs, verify received parts, and manage stock reconciliation.

Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose: Responsible for end-to-end management of the motor spare parts store including procurement, inventory control, and timely distribution/supply of spare parts to vehicles, field units, or dependent departments ensuring optimal stock availability while minimizing holding costs and downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement

• Identify and requisition spare parts (engine, transmission, electrical, tyres, filters, lubricants, etc.) based on consumption trends and minimum stock levels
• Source vendors/suppliers, obtain quotations, and negotiate pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules
• Raise Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up for timely delivery
• Verify quality and quantity of received parts against PO and invoice before GRN (Goods Receipt Note) entry
• Maintain vendor database and evaluate supplier performance periodically

Inventory & Stock Management

• Maintain accurate stock records for all spare parts
• Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies
• Set and monitor reorder levels, safety stock, and lead times to avoid stock-outs or overstocking

Documentation & Reporting

• Ensure vehicles/equipment comply with statutory requirements (fitness certificates, pollution control, insurance, permits)
• Maintain maintenance registers, service checklists, and downtime/breakdown reports

Cost & Vendor Control

• Monitor spare parts cost trends and suggest cost-saving alternatives (e.g., bulk purchase, alternate vendors)
• Prevent pilferage, wastage, and obsolete stock accumulation
• Coordinate with accounts for vendor payments and reconciliation

Qualifications & Experience:

• Any Graduate /Diploma.
• 15–20 years of experience in spare parts/stores management within the motor vehicle, field vehicle & equipment, or automotive industry
