Job summary

JITO in Hubli-Dharwad (India) seeks an organized Stores & Purchase Incharge to oversee Engineering & Maintenance Stores and procurement activities. The role ensures timely availability of spares, consumables, tools, and materials while maintaining optimum inventory levels and cost-effective purchasing.

Qualifications

• Inventory control and store management for engineering/maintenance spares and consumables.
• Vendor selection, price comparison and procurement negotiation.
• Raising PRs, issuing POs and coordinating with eng/maintenance and accounts.

Responsibilities

• Stores Management: maintain complete inventory of spares, consumables, tools, bearings, electrical and mechanical items.
• Purchase & procurement: raise requisitions, identify vendors, obtain quotes, compare prices and issue POs.
• Documentation & compliance: maintain PO/GRN/invoices, generate MIS reports, ensure audits and process improvements.

The role involves ensuring timely availability of spare parts, consumables, tools, and maintenance materials while maintaining optimum inventory levels and cost‑effective purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Stores Management:
  • Maintain complete inventory of engineering and maintenance spares, consumables, tools, bearings, electrical and mechanical items.
  • Ensure proper receipt, inspection, storage, issue, and documentation of all materials.
  • Maintain stock registers and ERP/Tally records with accurate inward and outward entries.
  • Monitor minimum, maximum, and reorder stock levels to avoid stock‑outs.
  • Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper identification, preservation, and housekeeping of all store materials.
• Purchase & Procurement:
  • Raise purchase requisitions based on inventory requirements.
  • Identify and develop reliable vendors for engineering spares and maintenance materials.
  • Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate commercial terms, and prepare comparative statements.
  • Issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, accounts, and stores for smooth procurement and payment processes.
  • Evaluate vendor performance with respect to quality, delivery, and cost.
• Documentation & Compliance:
  • Maintain purchase orders, GRNs, invoices, vendor records, and other procurement documents.
  • Generate MIS reports on inventory, purchases, consumption, pending orders, and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and audit requirements.
  • Support annual inventory audits and continuous process improvements.
