Job summary

JAKSON Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of large-scale solar plants and associated infrastructure in India. You will monitor performance, lead maintenance and teams, and ensure adherence to targets and safety standards.

You will drive optimization using SCADA data, coordinate maintenance planning, and manage budgets, spare parts, and vendor contracts while ensuring regulatory compliance and reliable energy evacuation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8–12 years of experience in solar power plant operations and maintenance.
• Experience managing utility-scale solar plants (50 MW to 500+ MW).
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, SCADA, inverters, transformers, and grid connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of solar PV plants, substations and infrastructure.
• Monitor plant performance and energy generation via SCADA and monitoring systems.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Coordinate shutdowns and maintenance to minimize generation losses.
• Lead O&M engineers and contractors with performance reviews and training.
• Prepare annual budgets, manage spare parts, and negotiate service contracts.

Operations Management

• Oversee the daily operation of solar PV plants, substations, and associated infrastructure.
• Monitor plant performance and energy generation through SCADA and monitoring systems.
• Ensure optimal plant availability and compliance with generation targets.
• Analyze operational data and identify opportunities for performance improvement.

Maintenance Management

• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Plan and supervise maintenance activities for solar modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, trackers, and transmission systems.
• Coordinate shutdowns and maintenance schedules to minimize generation losses.
• Ensure timely resolution of equipment failures and operational issues.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:
• Plant Availability (%)
• Performance Ratio (PR)
• Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF)
• Specific Yield (kWh/kWp)
• Energy Generation (MWh)
• Conduct root cause analysis for underperformance.
• Recommend and implement performance enhancement initiatives.

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance

• Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
• Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and permit-to-work systems.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation.

Team Leadership

• Manage O&M engineers, technicians, supervisors, and contractors.
• Provide technical training and skill development programs.
• Schedule manpower and resources effectively.
• Evaluate team performance and drive continuous improvement.

Budget & Cost Control

• Prepare annual O&M budgets and maintenance plans.
• Monitor operational expenses and optimize maintenance costs.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement requirements.
• Negotiate and manage service contracts with vendors and OEMs.

Regulatory & Compliance Management

• Ensure compliance with grid codes, environmental regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate inspections by regulatory authorities and clients.
• Maintain operational records and compliance documentation.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, investors, and stakeholders.
• Present performance reports and operational updates.
• Manage warranty claims and OEM support activities.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual performance reports.
• Maintain maintenance logs, failure analysis reports, and operational records.
• Analyze trends and provide recommendations to senior management.
