Job summary

Enerparc India is seeking an O&M Engineer to ensure maximum plant uptime, efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards for rooftop and ground-mounted Solar PV projects. You will manage, troubleshoot, and optimize plant performance, applying strong electrical engineering fundamentals and SCADA knowledge.

The role requires hands-on experience with PV systems, inverters, transformers, and protection systems, plus the ability to coordinate with vendors and DISCOMs to maintain

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics preferred; diploma acceptable.
• 4–8 years in Solar PV O&M, utility-scale ground-mounted.
• Strong hands-on in PV O&M and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of SCADA/RTU/communication systems and data analysis.
• Experience in RCA and failure analysis is essential.
• Vendor/OEM management and coordination experience.
• DISCOM/SLDC/QCA coordination experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to‑day O&M activities of the ground‑mounted Solar PV power plant.
• Ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of the complete Solar PV plant.
• Monitor plant performance, generation, PR, availability and equipment health.
• Supervise preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Manage and coordinate O&M vendors, OEMs and service contractors for timely completion of maintenance and breakdown activities.
• Review vendor performance, work completion and maintenance reports.
• Ensure proper maintenance of PV modules, DC systems, Cables, String inverters, LT/HT systems, transformers and switchgear.
• Have strong practical knowledge of Solar PV DC systems and troubleshooting of DC‑side faults.
• Operate and monitor AC electrical systems and 66 kV / 33 kV Pooling Substation as per approved procedures and authorization.
• Monitor 33 kV/66 kV switchgear, transformers, protection systems and auxiliary systems.

SCADA, Communication & Data Analysis

• Strong knowledge of Solar SCADA systems, RTU, data loggers, communication networks and plant monitoring systems.
• Troubleshoot SCADA communication failures between inverters, weather stations, RTUs, meters and central SCADA.
• Monitor real‑time plant data and identify abnormalities in generation and equipment performance.
• Analyze SCADA trends, inverter data, generation data, alarms and equipment parameters to identify performance issues.
• Prepare daily/monthly generation, PR, availability, downtime and performance reports.
• Ensure availability and accuracy of plant data required for performance monitoring and reporting.

Failure Analysis & RCA

• Carry out Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major equipment failures, repeated faults and generation losses.
• Identify failure patterns using SCADA data, historical records and site inspection findings.
• Prepare RCA reports with failure reason, corrective action, preventive action and recommendations.
• Follow up with OEMs/vendors for permanent corrective actions and closure of recurring issues.
• Track equipment failures and downtime to minimize recurring losses.

DISCOM / SLDC / QCA Coordination

• Coordinate with PGVCL / local DISCOM for plant operational and metering‑related requirements.
• Coordinate for AMR/MRI reports, ABT meter data, meter communication and generation data as required.
• Coordinate with SLDC and QCA for day‑to‑day operational requirements.
• Coordinate for forecasting and scheduling of solar generation with QCA.
• Monitor schedule vs. actual generation and coordinate necessary actions for deviations.
• Coordinate for grid‑related issues, outages, tripping, meter‑related matters and required reports.
• Maintain proper records of SLDC, QCA, DISCOM, AMR/MRI and grid communication.

Vendor Management

• Coordinate with O&M vendors, OEMs and specialist agencies for maintenance and breakdown rectification.
• Ensure vendors complete activities within agreed timelines and quality requirements.
• Verify work completion and service reports before recommending closure/payment.
• Follow up on pending spares, services, warranty issues and technical complaints.
• Coordinate with vendors during major breakdowns and emergency situations.

Safety & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, PPE and LOTO practices.
• Maintain maintenance records, checklists, breakdown reports and equipment history.
• Ensure proper equipment records, maintenance schedules and technical documents.
• Coordinate statutory inspections, testing and maintenance activities as required.
• Ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions at the plant.

Requirements

Qualification & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech - Electrical / Electrical & Electronics preferred. Diploma in Electrical and Electronics is also preferred.
• 4 - 8 years of experience in Solar PV O&M, preferably in utility‑scale ground‑mounted solar plants.
• Strong hands‑on experience in Solar PV plant O&M and electrical systems.
• Good knowledge of SCADA, RTU, communication systems and plant data analysis.
• Experience in RCA and failure analysis is essential.
• Experience in vendor/OEM management and coordination is preferred.
• Experience in coordination with DISCOM / SLDC / QCA for AMR, MRI, metering, forecasting and scheduling will be an advantage.
