Malpani Group is seeking a Senior Engineer – Solar PV Projects (O&M) to oversee operations and maintenance of multiple solar plants. You will monitor performance, supervise contractors, and drive improvements in generation and reliability.

Travel to project sites across Maharashtra and Telangana is required. The role requires strong data interpretation, RCA capability, and coordination with site teams to ensure compliance and optimal plant availability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of on-site experience in Solar PV plant operations and maintenance.
• Experience managing multiple utility-scale or rooftop solar projects.
• Proficiency in data interpretation, performance monitoring, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Willingness to travel across project locations in Maharashtra and Telangana.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor O&M activities by service providers and contractors.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of solar plant equipment and systems.
• Ensure adherence to O&M procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor plant performance parameters: energy generation, availability, and efficiency.
• Perform RCA and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Prepare daily, monthly, and consolidated MIS reports on plant performance.
• Coordinate with site teams and O&M contractors; ensure timely maintenance actions.
• Travel to project sites for monitoring, audits, and performance analyses.

Job Summary

The Senior Engineer – Solar PV Projects will be responsible for monitoring, supervising, and optimizing the operations and maintenance of multiple solar power plants. The role involves ensuring maximum plant availability, improving generation performance, analyzing equipment efficiency, coordinating with O&M contractors, and ensuring compliance with operational standards and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Maintenance Oversight

• Supervise and monitor O&M activities performed by appointed service providers and contractors.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of solar plant equipment and systems.
• Ensure adherence to O&M procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor plant performance parameters including energy generation, availability, and efficiency.
• Analyze operational data and identify opportunities for performance improvement and optimization.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site teams for troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance activities with O&M operators.
• Maintain documentation including maintenance records, equipment manuals, incident reports, and audit reports.
• Monitor overall operations and maintenance of multiple Solar PV plants.
• Review and analyze daily O&M reports and provide feedback to the Head – O&M.
• Identify and report variations in plant performance and energy yield.
• Conduct low‑generation analysis and investigate recurring faults and equipment failures.
• Analyze the performance and efficiency of:
  • PV Modules
  • Inverters
  • Transformers
  • Low‑performing strings
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor replacement of faulty materials and ensure timely resolution by O&M operators.
• Prepare daily, monthly, and consolidated MIS reports on plant performance.

3. Coordination & Compliance Management

• Coordinate with O&M contractors and site teams to maximize plant generation.
• Ensure compliance requirements related to rooftop sites, PPAs, plant owners, and operational obligations are met.
• Coordinate with government authorities whenever required for project‑related matters.
• Manage equipment warranties, preventive maintenance schedules, replacement activities, and cleaning records.
• Submit regular performance reports and major O&M activity summaries to Head Office.

4. Site Visits & Travel

• Conduct periodic site visits for monitoring, audits, and detailed performance analysis.
• Travel to project sites and vendor locations for:
  • Breakdown maintenance
  • Modifications and upgrades
  • New project activities
  • Technical assessments and inspections
• Willingness to travel extensively across project locations as per business requirements.
• Strong technical knowledge of Solar PV systems, inverters, SCADA/monitoring systems, transformers, and electrical equipment.
• Expertise in solar plant operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Understanding of renewable energy regulations, safety standards, and O&M best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with expertise in data interpretation and Root Cause Analysis.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MIS reporting.
• Good project planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.

Preferred Candidate Profile
