Job summary

Welspun New Energy Ltd. in India seeks an experienced O&M leader to manage day-to-day operations of renewable energy plants. The role focuses on maximizing asset availability, performance, and safety across solar, wind, and hybrid assets.

You will develop and implement maintenance programs, ensure regulatory compliance, oversee contractors, and prepare management reports on asset performance and costs. A strong background in electrical systems and SCADA is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related engineering field.
• 13–18 years of experience in O&M of renewable energy assets (solar, wind, or hybrid).
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, inverters, turbines, substations, and SCADA.
• Experience managing teams and contractors in multi-site environments.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management

• Manage day-to-day operations of renewable energy plants (solar, wind, hybrid, or storage).
• Ensure maximum availability, performance ratio, and energy yield of assets.
• Monitor plant performance through SCADA systems and performance analytics tools.
• Analyze operational data and implement corrective and preventive actions.

2. Maintenance Management

• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
• Manage troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and root cause analysis.
• Oversee spare parts inventory, tools, and maintenance resources.

3. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture and conduct regular safety training and audits.
• Ensure compliance with grid codes, environmental regulations, and contractual obligations.

4. Contractor Management

• Manage subcontractors and service providers, including OEMs.
• Evaluate contractor performance and enforce service-level agreements (SLAs).

5. Asset Performance & Reporting

• Prepare operational reports for management, investors, and stakeholders.
• Support performance guarantees, warranty claims, and insurance cases.

6. Budget & Cost Control

• Prepare and manage O&M budgets.
• Optimize operating costs while maintaining performance and safety standards.
• Support procurement of spare parts, tools, and service contracts.
