Job summary

BVR People Consulting is seeking a capable shift supervisor for sheet metal and press shop operations in India. The role involves supervising production, managing the shift team, and ensuring targets are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will oversee stamping machines, dies, AMADA turret punches, and press brakes, with a focus on uptime, quality, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
• 2–8 years of experience in sheet metal / press shop / metal production.
• Experience in shift handling, manpower management, OEE, downtime/rejection control, 5S and Kaizen.

Responsibilities

• Supervise sheet-metal production and press-shop activities on the assigned shift.
• Monitor stamping machines, dies, AMADA turret punch, press brakes; ensure process control.
• Ensure production targets are achieved as per plan and maintain shift handover.
• Coordinate with quality, maintenance, PPC for issue resolution and uptime.
• Support 5S, Kaizen and productivity improvement initiatives.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Supervise sheet-metal production and press-shop activities during the assigned shift.
• Handle/supervise Stamping Machines, Progressive Dies, AMADA Turret Punch Machines and Press Brake Machines.
• Monitor sheet-metal processes including cutting, punching, bending and forming.
• Ensure production targets are achieved as per plan.
• Allocate and manage shift-wise manpower and operator productivity.
• Monitor machine utilization, downtime, rejection and production performance.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, PPC and other departments for issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, ISO standards, quality and safety requirements.
• Support 5S, Kaizen, productivity improvement and rejection reduction.
• Maintain production reports and ensure proper shift handover.
• Handle shop-floor problems and elevate critical issues appropriately.

Preferred candidate profile

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering with 2-8 years of experience in sheet metal / press shop / metal production.

Candidates should have hands-on or supervisory experience in stamping machines, progressive dies, AMADA Turret Punch machines, Press Brake, punching, bending and forming processes. Should be experienced in shift handling, manpower management, production target achievement, OEE, downtime/rejection control, quality, 5S, Kaizen and shop-floor coordination. Preference for candidates from electrical switchgear, sheet metal, automotive, home appliances or engineering manufacturing industries
