Job summary

WAE India in Sector 10, Uttar Pradesh, seeks an experienced production lead for sheet metal fabrication. You will manage daily production, optimize resource use, and drive on-time execution of plans across cutting, bending, punching, welding, and assembly.

The role requires 5-8 years in production/manufacturing, a B.Tech, hands-on fabrication skills, and strong leadership with expertise in planning, quality, and reporting using MS Excel.

Qualifications

• B.Tech is mandatory as per the profile.
• 5-8 years of experience in production/manufacturing operations.
• Hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes and shop-floor management.
• Experience in team handling, productivity improvement, quality control, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day production activities related to sheet metal fabrication and ensure timely execution of production plans.
• Oversee fabrication processes including cutting, bending, punching, welding, assembly, and finishing.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, raw materials, and other resources.
• Monitor targets, productivity, rejection rates and overall efficiency.
• Implement process improvements to reduce wastage and cycle time.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety procedures, and SOPs.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Purchase, Stores, and Planning teams.
• Lead shop-floor teams to achieve targets and drive continuous improvement.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain production reports and operational documentation.

Role & responsibilities

• Oversee fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, punching, welding, assembly, and finishing.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, raw materials, and other production resources.
• Monitor production targets, productivity, rejection rates, and overall operational efficiency.
• Implement process improvements to reduce wastage, production costs, and manufacturing cycle time.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety procedures, and production SOPs.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Purchase, Stores, and Planning teams for smooth production operations.
• Manage and guide shop-floor teams, supervisors, and operators to achieve production targets.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain production reports, downtime records, material consumption reports, and other operational documentation.
• Ensure proper maintenance and efficient utilization of production equipment.
• Support environmental compliance and utility management related to STP, WTP, and ETP, wherever applicable.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.Tech is mandatory.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in production/manufacturing operations.
• Hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, production planning, and shop-floor management.
• Experience in team handling, productivity improvement, quality control, and process optimization.
• Good problem-solving, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in production reporting and MS Excel.
• Exposure to STP (Sewage Treatment Plant), WTP (Water Treatment Plant), and ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) will be an added advantage.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing environments and continuous improvement initiatives will be preferred.
