Job summary

Birlasoft Limited is seeking a ServiceNow Developer to implement and customize Strategic Portfolio Management capabilities. You will configure planning, demand, and project workstreams, build automation, and create dashboards to support portfolio governance.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of ServiceNow development experience, including SPM exposure, strong JavaScript and integration skills, and a proven track record with REST/SOAP integrations and AI-enabled enhancements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of ServiceNow development experience, with at least 2 years in SPM implementation or enhancement.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, ACLs.
• Hands-on experience with SPM data models, workspaces, reports, dashboards, import sets, transform maps, and REST/SOAP integrations.
• Understanding of source control, update sets or repository management, Automated Test Framework, release management, and upgrade-safe development.
• Exposure to generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, AI skills or agents, and human-in-the-loop workflows.

Responsibilities

Service Now Developer

Role Titles • ServiceNow SPM Developer / Senior Developer

Responsibilities Core SPM Functions

• Implement and configure ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) modules.
• Configure and enhance Strategic Planning, Innovation and Demand Management, Portfolio Planning, Project and Program Management, Resource Management, Financial Planning, Timecard Management, Benefits Realization, and Enterprise Agile Planning.
• Implement scoring, prioritization, demand-to-project conversion, project templates, status reporting, resource allocation, capacity planning, cost and benefit plans, and planning-item workflows.
• Configure Strategic Planning Workspace, Project Workspace, Portfolio Planning Workspace, dashboards, reports, and role-based user experiences.
• Integrate ServiceNow SPM with Jira, Azure DevOps, ERP and financial systems, HR platforms, and other enterprise applications using Integration Hub and REST/SOAP APIs.

Development & Customization

• Develop workflows, flows, subflows, reusable actions, business rules, script includes, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, data policies, notifications, scheduled jobs, and access controls.
• Develop scoped applications and upgrade-safe enhancements using ServiceNow platform best practices.
• Configure UI Builder experiences, forms, tables, fields, workspaces, reports, and Performance Analytics components.
• Develop and support import sets, transform maps, webhooks, MID Server integrations, and Integration Hub spokes.
• Prepare technical designs, configuration workbooks, unit-test evidence, deployment instructions, release notes, and support documentation.
• Perform code reviews, defect resolution, performance optimization, regression support, deployment, and hypercare.

AI, Now Assist & Agentic Automation

• Configure and test Now Assist for SPM capabilities for summarization, demand creation and refinement, similar-demand identification, planning-item assistance, project and portfolio insights, goal insights, and story generation.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• 4+ years of ServiceNow development experience, including 2+ years of hands-on SPM implementation or enhancement experience.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, ACLs, and scoped applications.
• Hands-on experience with SPM data models, workspaces, reports, dashboards, import sets, transform maps, and REST/SOAP integrations.
• Understanding of source control, update sets or application repository, Automated Test Framework, release management, and upgrade-safe development.
• Exposure to generative AI, prompt engineering, AI skills or agents, output evaluation, and human-in-the-loop workflow design.
