Job summary

Linde India Limited is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer for Kolkata to drive erection, installation and commissioning of Instrumentation & Control systems on projects. The role emphasizes calibration, testing, loop checks, and DCS/PLC integration to ensure safety and project schedule adherence.

You will coordinate with engineering, construction, vendors and client representatives, lead analyzer commissioning, and support handover to operations.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering with ≥4 years or Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering with 6–8 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation installation, commissioning, maintenance, and project execution.
• Experience in calibration, installation, testing and commissioning of field instrumentation, loop checks and documentation.
• Knowledge of Air Separation Units is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage erection, installation and commissioning of Instrumentation & Control systems for small to medium projects.
• Oversee installation, calibration, testing and commissioning of field instruments ensuring alignment with project specs and standards.
• Perform control valve calibration, diagnostics, and troubleshooting for reliable operation.
• Coordinate loop checking, functional testing, and commissioning of PLC and DCS systems for smooth plant start-up.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, vendors and client reps to resolve technical issues and expedite site execution.
• Monitor construction and commissioning activities and maintain project documentation and records.
• Lead plant analyzer commissioning and support system performance testing for handover to operations.

A Senior Instrumentation Engineer must have good knowledge in instrumentation with experience of site jobs. Thorough experience in Calibration, Instrument Installation, Cable laying, Termination, Loop checking, pre-commissioning & commissioning of different type instrumentation items. Knowledge in PLC/DCS system for commissioning process plant. Familiar with instrumentation drawing documents like P&ID, instrument data sheets, Cable tray layout, cable schedule & DCS/PLC logic diagram.

Making an impact. What will you do?

• In this role, you will independently manage the erection, installation, and commissioning of Instrumentation & Control systems for small and medium-sized projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and project schedule requirements
• Additionally, you will oversee the installation, calibration, testing, and commissioning of field instruments while ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards
• Furthermore, you will perform control valve calibration, stroke checking, diagnostics, and troubleshooting activities to ensure reliable system performance and operational readiness
• Meanwhile, you will execute loop checking, functional testing, and commissioning activities for PLC and DCS systems, ensuring smooth integration and successful plant start-up
• Consequently, you will coordinate with engineering, construction, vendors, and client representatives to resolve technical issues and ensure efficient site execution
• Moreover, you will monitor construction and commissioning activities, maintain project documentation and records, and ensure timely completion of instrumentation deliverables
• Finally, you will lead plant analyzer commissioning activities, support system performance testing, and contribute to the safe and successful handover of commissioned systems to operations

Winning in your role. Do you have what it takes?

• You must hold a B.Tech degree in Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering with 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation installation, commissioning, maintenance, and project execution
• And you should have knowledge in Air Separation Units
