Job summary

Linde India Limited, a leading global industrial gases and engineering company, is seeking a Manager Instrumentation - PED in Kolkata to lead instrumentation engineering for projects. The role involves reviewing P&IDs, data sheets, loop diagrams, and installation diagrams, coordinating with clients and PMCs to secure approvals.

You will oversee instrument selection, DCS/PLC system work, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover to the client's operations team, while ensuring safety

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering documents such as P&IDs, schematic wiring drawings, instrument data sheets, cable schedules and loop diagrams; coordinate document approvals with clients and PMCs.
• Apply knowledge of instrumentation including pressure, temperature, level and flow measurement instruments, gas analyzers, and control/on-off valves to support engineering and project requirements.
• Handle specification, selection and procurement support of instruments, flow elements and valves; review vendor documentation for manufacturing clearance.
• Contribute to DCS and PLC system engineering activities, including logic development support, troubleshooting, erection, commissioning and system validation.
• Prepare key project deliverables such as I/O lists, cable tray layouts, cable schedules and instrument installation diagrams for smooth project execution.
• Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, supporting plant start-up, stabilization, optimization and performance validation of instruments.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and commissioning procedures; assist in as-built documentation, punch point closure, spare handover, performance guarantee tests and handover to client operations team.

• Additionally, you will apply your knowledge of instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, level and flow measurement instruments, gas analyzers, and control/on-off valves, to support engineering and project requirements
• Furthermore, you will be responsible for the specification, selection, and procurement support of instruments, flow elements, and valves, along with reviewing vendor documentation for manufacturing clearance
• Moreover, you will contribute to DCS and PLC system engineering activities, including logic development support, troubleshooting, erection, commissioning, and system validation
• Consequently, you will prepare key project deliverables such as I/O lists and assignments, cable tray layouts, cable schedules, and instrument installation diagrams to ensure smooth project execution
• Thereafter, you will participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, supporting plant start-up, stabilization, optimization, and performance validation of instruments to achieve operational targets
• Finally, you will ensure compliance with safety standards and commissioning procedures, assist in as-built documentation, punch point closure, spare handover, performance guarantee tests, and successful handover of the plant to the client’s operations team
