Job summary

Linde India Limited in Kolkata is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer (PED) to lead erection, installation and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems on-site. The role requires strong knowledge of calibration, loop checks and PLC/DCS-based processes for plant start-up and operations.

The candidate should have a B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering (or Diploma with extensive experience) and hands-on work in instrument installation, commissioning, and maintenance, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Diploma in Instrumentation with relevant field experience.
• Experience in calibration, installation, loop checks and commissioning.
• Familiarity with P&ID, instrument data sheets and DCS/PLC logic.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage erection, installation and commissioning of instrumentation & control systems for small/medium projects.
• Oversee installation, calibration, testing and commissioning of field instruments per specs.
• Perform valve calibration, diagnostics and troubleshooting for reliable performance.
• Execute loop checking, functional testing and commissioning for PLC/DCS systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, vendors and client reps to resolve issues.
• Monitor activities and maintain documentation and timely instrument deliverables.
• Lead plant analyzer commissioning and support system handover to operations.

Making an impact. What will you do?

• In this role, you will independently manage the erection, installation, and commissioning of Instrumentation & Control systems for small and medium-sized projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and project schedule requirements
• Additionally, you will oversee the installation, calibration, testing, and commissioning of field instruments while ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards
• Furthermore, you will perform control valve calibration, stroke checking, diagnostics, and troubleshooting activities to ensure reliable system performance and operational readiness
• Meanwhile, you will execute loop checking, functional testing, and commissioning activities for PLC and DCS systems, ensuring smooth integration and successful plant start-up
• Consequently, you will coordinate with engineering, construction, vendors, and client representatives to resolve technical issues and ensure efficient site execution
• Moreover, you will monitor construction and commissioning activities, maintain project documentation and records, and ensure timely completion of instrumentation deliverables
• Finally, you will lead plant analyzer commissioning activities, support system performance testing, and contribute to the safe and successful handover of commissioned systems to operations

Winning in your role. Do you have what it takes?

• You must hold a B.Tech degree in Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering with 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation installation, commissioning, maintenance, and project execution
• And you should have knowledge in Air Separation Units
