Qualifications

• Knowledge of testing of cables, transformers, inverters, protection systems and switchyard equipment.
• Familiarity with grid requirements, safety standards, and coordination with DISCOM/authorities.

Responsibilities

Reporting: Associate Vice President – BESS

Experience : 5-8 years

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support and lead electrical execution activities for utility-scale Solar EPC and BESS projects at Thennampatti, Tamil Nadu. The role involves managing installation, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness of electrical systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and grid requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in solar and/or BESS electrical systems, hands‑on site execution experience, and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders including project management teams, contractors, OEMs, and utility authorities. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality project outcomes within timelines.

1. Electrical Project Execution

• Lead and support execution of electrical works in Solar EPC and BESS projects.
• Oversee installation of PV systems, inverters, transformers, HT/LT panels, switchgear, and BESS-related electrical systems.
• Ensure execution is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and vendors for smooth site progress.
• Assist in testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Ensure proper testing of cables, transformers, inverters, protection systems, and switchyard equipment.
• Support grid synchronization activities in coordination with DISCOM and authorities.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and commissioning phases.

3. Engineering & Technical Support

• Review and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, layouts, and technical documents.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams for resolving electrical execution issues.
• Ensure proper implementation of protection systems, earthing, and safety systems.
• Support optimization of electrical design and site execution practices.

Quality Assurance & Documentation

• Ensure adherence to quality standards and project specifications for all electrical works.
• Maintain records of inspection reports, test results, and commissioning documentation.
• Verify material quality and compliance before installation at site.
• Support preparation of daily progress reports and project documentation.

5. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and HSE guidelines.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure proper use of PPE at site.
• Support risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety audits.
• Report unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

6. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, OEMs, and client teams.
• Ensure timely execution of assigned tasks and project milestones.
• Support smooth communication between site and head office teams.
• Assist in achieving project targets within quality, cost, and time parameters.
