Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mechanical Site Engineer to support the execution of solar EPC projects across Tamil Nadu.

The role involves on-site supervision of mechanical works, including module mounting structures (MMS), tracker installations, and related activities. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in site execution, strong understanding of mechanical systems in solar projects, and the ability to manage contractors while ensuring timely project delivery with high quality and safety standards.

Key Functional Areas

Mechanical Site Execution

Supervision and execution of installation activities related to module mounting structures (MMS), trackers, and associated systems

Planning and monitoring of structure erection, module mounting, alignment, and torque compliance

Contractor & Workforce Management

Coordination with subcontractors, vendors, and workforce for smooth execution

Quality & Compliance

Ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety guidelines

Project Coordination

Collaboration with electrical, civil, and project teams for integrated execution

Material Management

Tracking material requirements, consumption, and inventory at site

1. Mechanical Execution & Supervision

• Supervise installation of MMS, trackers, and related components
• Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and torqueing as per design specifications
• Monitor daily activities and ensure adherence to project schedules
• Plan erection sequences in line with project timelines
• Track progress and highlight deviations with corrective action plans
• Optimize utilization of manpower and resources
• Coordinate with subcontractors for timely execution
• Monitor contractor productivity and performance
• Verify work completion as per BOQ and drawings

4. Quality Assurance & Safety

• Ensure installation quality as per approved standards
• Conduct inspections and maintain quality records
• Enforce EHS and safety compliance at site

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with electrical and civil teams for interface activities
• Resolve site-level technical issues with project teams
• Participate in review meetings and progress discussions

6. Material & Inventory Management

• Track receipt and consumption of materials
• Ensure proper storage and handling
• Raise material indents and proactively report shortages

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain Daily Progress Reports (DPR) and site records
• Prepare installation checklists and handover documentation
• Support audits and project documentation

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

• 2–6 years of experience in site execution
• Preferably in Solar EPC / Renewable Energy projects
• Experience in MMS, trackers, or similar installations
