Responsibilities

• Own projects end-to-end, from initial scoping to transition to BAU.
• Lead complex business change and transformation initiatives across multiple functions and workstreams.
• Collaborate with leaders, clients, external partners and other stakeholders to define objectives and priorities.
• Challenge assumptions, influence decisions and manage conflicting priorities.
• Identify and manage project risks, dependencies and issues with broad implications.
• Lead business readiness, stakeholder engagement, communications, training and adoption to ensure successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own projects end-to-end, from initial scoping, requirements and business case through planning, delivery, implementation, closure and transition to BAU.
• Lead complex business change and business transformation initiatives across multiple functions and workstreams.
• Work closely with business leaders, clients, external partners and other stakeholders to define objectives, agree priorities and deliver successful outcomes.
• Act as a trusted partner to stakeholders, confidently challenge assumptions, influence decisions and manage conflicting priorities.
• Identify and manage project risks, dependencies and issues, considering the wider business, commercial, customer, operational and regulatory implications.
• Lead business readiness, stakeholder engagement, communications, training and adoption to ensure successful implementation and sustainable transition into BAU.
• Manage project scope, timelines, resources, budgets, dependencies and delivery outcomes across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Manage external suppliers and partners, including commercial discussions, performance and delivery dependencies where required.
• In line with PMO best practice, establish appropriate governance, reporting, RAID management and escalation processes while maintaining focus on business outcomes.
• Identify problems early, develop practical solutions and re-plan project delivery where circumstances or business priorities change.
• Provide clear and concise updates to senior stakeholders, including risks, options, recommendations and decisions required.
• Work across international markets and geographically distributed teams, adapting delivery approaches to different business and regulatory environments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 1216+ years of experience in project management, business transformation, business change or operational change.
• Strong experience as a Business Transformation / Business Change / Operations Project Manager.
• Demonstrated experience of personally owning and delivering projects end-to-end, rather than primarily directing large programme teams or PMO functions.
• Experience working with international clients, business stakeholders and/or external partners; consulting experience would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of how business change impacts operations, customers, risk, compliance, legal requirements and commercial outcomes.
• Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and confidently influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing multiple workstreams and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience delivering measurable business outcomes such as cost savings, efficiency improvements, customer outcomes, risk reduction or revenue impact.
• Technology/project delivery knowledge is beneficial, but the role is primarily focused on business and operational transformation rather than hands-on technology delivery.

Desirable

• Experience across retail, online and/or mobile channels, particularly projects involving customer-facing or physical retail operations.
• Experience working with regulated businesses or projects involving significant legal, regulatory or compliance considerations.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification.
