Job summary

ROCKWOOL Group in Chennai is seeking an experienced Warehouse Professional to oversee inventory accuracy, receipt, storage and dispatch of materials, and to ensure OTIF deliveries. The role requires SAP MM/WMS proficiency, strong 5S and safety discipline, and hands-on management of contract labour.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams across Production, Planning and Logistics while maintaining strict FIFO/FEFO controls and generating essential MIS reports.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 to 4 year experience in warehouse operations and inventory control.
  • Qualification: Any bachelor's degree in mechanical / postgraduates in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day warehouse operations to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through daily stock verification and cycle counting.
  • Ensure proper receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of materials.
  • Follow FIFO/FEFO principles and maintain inventory traceability.
  • Process warehouse transactions accurately in SAP (MM/WMS).
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly warehouse MIS reports.
  • Verify customer orders and coordinate dispatch as per delivery schedule.
  • Monitor material picking and ensure correct material is dispatched.
  • Coordinate with Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality and Logistics teams.
  • Ensure timely GRN, stock posting and inventory reconciliation.
  • Maintain warehouse layout, storage locations and material identification.
  • Maintain 5S standards and good housekeeping within the warehouse.
  • Ensure safe material handling practices and compliance with EHS requirements.
  • Supervise contract labour and optimize manpower utilization.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining required records.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve warehouse productivity and efficiency.
