At PSYC Aerospace & Defence Industries, we are engineering the next generation of autonomous aerial and robotic systems across defence and advanced mobility domains. Our work spans UAVs, UGVs, and intelligent robotic platforms designed for high-performance, mission‑critical applications. We are seeking a Mission Simulation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain simulation environments for testing and validating unmanned systems. This role requires strong analytical skills, understanding of system behavior, and the ability to build realistic simulation frameworks for mission scenarios.
About the Role
As a member of the simulation and systems team, you will:
- Develop simulation environments for UAVs and autonomous systems including mission scenarios and system behavior
- Work closely with systems, software, and controls teams
- Enable testing, validation, and performance evaluation in simulated environments
Key Responsibilities
- Simulation Development
- Design and develop simulation frameworks for UAV and autonomous systems
- Model system behavior including dynamics, sensors, environment, and mission scenarios
- Build scalable and reusable simulation tools
- Modeling & Analysis
- Develop mathematical and physics‑based models for system performance
- Simulate real‑world conditions including weather, terrain, and operational constraints
- Analyze simulation results to improve system performance and reliability
- Testing & Validation
- Support Software‑in‑the‑Loop (SITL) and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HITL) simulations
- Validate system behavior and mission outcomes in simulated environments
- Identify and troubleshoot system‑level issues
- Integration & Collaboration
- Work closely with software, systems, and embedded teams
- Integrate simulation tools with development and testing pipelines
- Support rapid prototyping and iterative development cycles
- Tools & Optimization
- Develop tools for visualization, data analysis, and scenario testing
- Optimize simulation performance and scalability
- Maintain and improve simulation infrastructure
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar
- Understanding of system dynamics, control systems, or physics‑based modeling
- Familiarity with simulation tools or environments
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with UAV/UAS, drones, or autonomous systems
- Familiarity with simulation platforms (MATLAB/Simulink, Gazebo, AirSim, etc.)
- Knowledge of control systems, navigation, or mission planning
- Experience with data visualization and analysis tools
