About the Role
As a member of the autonomy and perception team, you will:
- Develop perception pipelines for UAVs and autonomous systems including vision, depth sensing, and environmental understanding
- Work closely with software, embedded, and systems teams
- Enable reliable real‑time perception for navigation, obstacle avoidance, and mission execution
Key Responsibilities
- Perception System Development
- Design and develop perception algorithms using cameras, LiDAR, and other sensors
- Implement computer vision and sensor fusion techniques
- Build robust pipelines for object detection, tracking, and scene understanding
- Sensor Integration & Processing
- Integrate and process data from multiple sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU, GPS)
- Calibrate sensors and ensure accurate data synchronization
- Optimize data pipelines for real‑time performance
- Algorithm Development & Optimization
- Develop and optimize perception algorithms for performance and reliability
- Improve robustness under varying environmental conditions
- Work on edge deployment and real‑time inference
- Testing & Validation
- Test perception systems in simulation and real‑world environments
- Analyze performance and improve accuracy and reliability
- Debug and resolve perception‑related issues
- Collaboration & Integration
- Work closely with autonomy, controls, and systems teams
- Integrate perception modules with navigation and decision‑making systems
- Support iterative development and deployment cycles
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical, or related field
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar
- Solid understanding of computer vision and perception algorithms
- Experience with OpenCV, ROS, or similar frameworks
- Understanding of sensor fusion and real‑time systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in UAV/UAS, drones, or autonomous systems
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Knowledge of SLAM, localization, or navigation systems
- Experience working with LiDAR and multi‑sensor systems
