Job summary

the Sleep Company is seeking a procurement professional to support direct material categories across foam, chemicals, packaging and contract manufacturing. You will backfill the Senior Manager, own tail-spend, and ensure system hygiene and execution.

This role requires 6–9 years in direct material procurement, experience across multiple categories, ERP expertise (SAP/Oracle), and strong spend analytics using Excel or Power BI.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of direct material procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Experience across multiple direct categories with strong cost analysis.
• Hands-on ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) covering PR to PO, rate contracts, GRN and vendor master.
• Fluency with P2P/S2P tools including e-sourcing events, contract repository, PO and invoice follow-up.
• Spend analytics experience using Excel or Power BI; building category and vendor spend views.
• Vendor scorecards and SRM: periodic reviews and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Support Senior Manager across direct categories: foam, chemicals, packaging and contract manufacturing
• Own tail-spend direct materials and secondary vendors end to end
• Create and maintain rate contracts, PO follow-ups, delivery tracking and vendor master data in the system
• Prepare negotiation inputs for the Senior Manager: cost breakups, price benchmarks, commodity trends and should-cost; join negotiations and lead smaller ones independently
• Maintain spend analytics and vendor scorecards for all direct suppliers; run supplier review meetings and track corrective actions
• Coordinate with Operations, QA and Finance on material availability, quality issues and contract manufacturer follow-ups
• Drive P2P / S2P system adoption and compliance within the Direct Pod
• Provide full backup cover for the Senior Manager's categories and escalations

Job description

Role Purpose

Support the Senior Manager across all direct categories (foam, chemicals, raw materials, packaging and contract manufacturing). Own tail spend, system hygiene and execution, and share the Senior Manager's success criteria at an execution level. Works in sync as the backup and the successor pipeline for the Direct Pod.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Manager across all direct categories: foam, chemicals, springs, fabric, latex, packaging and contract manufacturing
• Own tail-spend direct materials and secondary vendors end to end (packaging, accessories and other minor materials sit here, not as a standalone remit)
• Create and maintain rate contracts, PO follow-ups, delivery tracking and vendor master data in the system
• Prepare negotiation inputs for the Senior Manager: cost breakups, price benchmarks, commodity trends and should-cost; join negotiations and lead smaller ones independently
• Maintain spend analytics and vendor scorecards for all direct suppliers; run supplier review meetings and track corrective actions
• Coordinate with Operations, QA and Finance on material availability, quality issues and contract manufacturer follow-ups
• Drive P2P / S2P system adoption and compliance within the Direct Pod

MUST-HAVE

• 6-9 years in direct material procurement in manufacturing (FMCG, furniture, foam, chemicals, packaging, auto or similar)
• Exposure to more than one direct category, with enough depth to support negotiations and cost analysis
• Hands-on ERP experience (SAP / Oracle or similar): PR to PO, rate contracts, GRN and vendor master
• Working knowledge of P2P and S2P tools: e-sourcing events, contract repository, PO and invoice follow-up
• Spend analysis: building category and vendor spend views, tail-spend identification and savings MIS in Excel / Power BI
• Vendor scorecards and SRM: maintaining scorecards, running periodic vendor reviews and tracking corrective actions
