Job summary

Acumen 360 Consulting & HR Solutions in India is looking for an Asst. Manager / Manager in the Procurement Department. The ideal candidate will develop strategic plans for procurement of materials, oversee vendor relationships, and ensure the optimization of processes to minimize costs and lead time.

Preferred qualifications include a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or an M.B.A. in Materials Management, along with 8-12 years of relevant experience.

Job Purpose

Primary Responsibilities

• Develops strategic plans for efficient procurement of material and process improvement and translates them into standard processes and systems to minimise lead time and cost.
• Commodity expert of Steel, Casting, Non-ferrous metal like Copper, Brass, Bronze, Zinc, Nickel.
• Exposure to vendor development for above mentioned commodities.
• Exposure to Global procurement.
• Formulates purchase risk management strategy and manage commodity pricing and forecasting.
• Assists the SBU Heads / Engineering in developing a strategy for long-term for Direct Material.
• Exposure to source various Raw material grades used in Stell and electrical industries.
• Evaluate supplier capacity and capability.
• Analyse market scenario for different commodities.
• Awareness of various Raw material grades and standard used in Copper/Brass industry.
• Preparation of Quote Synthesis.
• Reviews the key performance metrics of the function on periodic basis and intervene as and when necessary.
• Monitors performance of the function against set goals and against the budget on a periodic basis.
• Mentors and grooms high-potential employees, to ensure their career growth and succession readiness for key positions in the department.
