Job summary

Roots Group of Companies is seeking a procurement specialist to optimize EMS parts sourcing, supplier management, and cost reduction across domestic and international procurement streams.

The role involves new development projects, data-driven forecasting, and strategic sourcing to ensure uninterrupted production. You will manage overseas suppliers, multiple models, and 1300+ parts, driving efficiency and cost savings.

• Improve supplier follow-up and cost-control without impacting operations.
• Mitigate forecast risk using strategic planning with multiple suppliers.
• Manage increased workload from growth in production and supplier base.
• Procurement planning for 125 models and 1300+ parts; overseas supplier handling.
• Direct and indirect material purchases for domestic and international trade; import/export compliance.
• Identify cost-saving areas and new vendor development for price reduction.

Job description

Roles and Responsibility:

• Special focus to be given for new developments to execute multiple projects for on time completion
• Oversee the supply chain operations through data -driven demand forecasting and supplier negotiation strategies, Risk assessment and developing alternate sourcing solutions to ensure uninterrupted production flow
• To improve supplier follow-up, support production requirements and maintain effective cost-control activities without affecting the existing operational responsibilities
• Mitigating the forecast risk by using unique planning to perform and complete the assigned task with multiple suppliers at a time
• Existing manpower is currently handling multiple critical activities simultaneously, cost reduction, alternate sourcing and process improvement.
• Current workload has increased significantly due to growth in production, number of components, supplier base, Import shipments, payment follow ups and delivery follow ups
• Regular follow up, planning and procurement of products increased to 125 models
• More than 1300 + parts are in regular procurement
• Handling of Overseas Suppliers for Import material procurement.
• Experience in handling direct and indirect material purchases for both domestic and international trade, including import/export compliance.
• Identify the cost saving areas, alternate make proposal and new vendor development for price reduction
