Job summary

Boltcargo India Private Limited seeks an Ocean Pricing Manager to develop, negotiate and manage competitive ocean freight pricing across import, export, cross-trade and project cargo movements.

You will work with shipping lines, NVOCCs, overseas agents, and internal teams to ensure competitive buying, accurate quotations, healthy margins and rapid RFQ responses, while leveraging strong knowledge of global markets, tariffs, surcharges and trade lanes.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in ocean freight pricing/procurement.
• Strong pricing experience in FCL pricing.
• Excellent Excel skills and ability to work with large pricing datasets.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Job description

The Ocean Pricing Manager will be responsible for developing, negotiating, managing, and executing competitive ocean freight pricing strategies across import, export, cross-trade, and project cargo movements.

The role will manage relationships with shipping lines, NVOCCs, overseas agents, and internal sales/operations teams to ensure competitive buying, accurate quotations, healthy margins, and fast response to RFQs and customer enquiries .

The candidate should have strong knowledge of global ocean freight markets, shipping-line tariffs, local/port charges, free time, equipment availability, surcharges, and trade-lane dynamics.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience in ocean freight pricing/procurement.
  
• Strong FCL pricing experience.
  
• Good knowledge of major global trade lanes.
  
• Strong understanding of shipping-line tariffs and local charges.
  
• Experience negotiating with shipping lines/NVOCCs.
  
• Experience handling customer RFQs and tenders.
  
• Strong commercial and analytical skills.
  
• Excellent Excel skills and ability to work with large pricing datasets.
  
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  

Preferred

• Experience with project cargo / special equipment.
  
• Experience in cross-trade pricing.
  
• Exposure to LCL pricing.
  
• Experience with freight-forwarding ERP/TMS/CRM systems.
  
• Experience managing pricing teams.
  
• Knowledge of digital pricing tools or automated quotation platforms.
  
• Experience working with international customers and overseas agents.
