Job summary

The Love Hope Company is seeking a proactive HR Generalist to join our Chennai team and work closely with the Founder on hiring, HR operations, and performance management.

You will own recruitment across functions, support onboarding/offboarding, employee records, and policy implementation, while helping shape a scalable HR process as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in HR Generalist or similar role.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Comfortable working directly with founders and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Talent Acquisition: Own end-to-end recruitment across functions and levels; source through LinkedIn, portals, referrals; screen, interview, coordinate, evaluate; manage interview processes and candidate experience.
• HR Operations: Manage day-to-day HR operations and employee queries; support onboarding and offboarding; maintain records and HR documentation; coordinate attendance, leave, payroll inputs and other HR processes; draft and implement HR policies.
• Performance Management: Support goal-setting and performance reviews; track performance; identify gaps and improvements; support performance improvement plans; maintain related reports.
• Employee Engagement & Culture: Be contact point for HR matters; support engagement initiatives and events; gather feedback; help build transparent workplace culture.

Job description

We are looking for a proactive and people-oriented HR Generalist to join our team and work closely with the Founder across hiring, HR operations, employee engagement, policies, and performance management.

This is a hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to build and improve HR processes while working closely with employees and leadership. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership, and handling multiple HR responsibilities independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition

• Own the end-to-end recruitment process across various functions and levels.
• Source candidates through LinkedIn, job portals, referrals, and other channels.
• Screen, interview, coordinate, and evaluate candidates.
• Manage interview processes and ensure a smooth candidate experience.
• Maintain and track the hiring pipeline and recruitment metrics.

HR Operations

• Manage day-to-day HR operations and employee queries.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
• Coordinate with relevant teams on attendance, leave, payroll inputs, and other HR processes.
• Ensure HR processes are implemented smoothly and consistently.
• Draft, update, and implement HR policies and processes.
• Identify gaps in existing HR processes and suggest improvements.
• Ensure employees are aware of and follow company policies.
• Help build scalable HR processes as the company grows.

Performance Management

• Support goal-setting and performance management processes.
• Track employee performance and ensure regular reviews and feedback.
• Work with managers to identify performance gaps and improvement areas.
• Support the implementation of performance improvement plans where required.
• Maintain performance-related documentation and reports.

Employee Engagement & Culture

• Act as a point of contact for employees on HR-related matters.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and internal events.
• Gather employee feedback and identify areas for improvement.
• Help build a positive and transparent workplace culture.
  

What we are looking for:

• 1–2 years of experience in HR Generalist, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of recruitment and the end-to-end hiring process.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion.
