Job summary

Suryadev Alloys And Power in Tamil Nadu seeks an experienced Head of Stores to lead material management across DRI, Sponge Iron, Pellet Plant, and allied operations. You will oversee receipt, inspection, storage, and issue of materials, and ensure accurate SAP/ERP transactions and stock reconciliation.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Overall Stores & Materials Management Lead and manage all stores across DRI/Sponge Iron, Pellet Plant, TMT/Rolling Mill, Speciality Steel, Power Plant, WHRB and other plant operations.
• Material Forecasting & Planning – Prepare material requirements based on production plans, maintenance schedules, shutdowns and project requirements, ensuring timely availability.
• Inventory Management & Optimization – Maintain optimum inventory levels through Min-Max, Reorder Level and Safety Stock systems while reducing excess, slow-moving, non-moving and obsolete inventory.
• Critical & Spare Parts Management – Ensure availability and proper control of critical, insurance, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and maintenance spares.
• Warehouse & Stores Operations – Oversee material receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, identification, issue, return and transfer, ensuring efficient space utilization and proper material handling.
• SAP / ERP & Inventory Control – Ensure accurate SAP/ERP transactions, material coding, GRN, issues, returns, transfers, stock reconciliation and inventory records.
• Procurement & Vendor Coordination – Coordinate with Procurement, Maintenance, Production and vendors to ensure timely procurement and availability of materials, including long-lead and critical items.
• Shutdown, Project & CAPEX Material Management – Plan and control materials required for plant shutdowns, expansion projects, CAPEX and new equipment installations.
• Cost Control, Audit & Compliance – Optimize inventory carrying costs and working capital, maintain inventory accuracy, conduct periodic stock verification and ensure compliance with audit, safety and company procedures.
• Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement – Lead and develop the Stores team, establish SOPs and KPIs, improve processes through digitalization and analytics, and ensure effective coordination with all plant functions.
