Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of F&B, housekeeping and guest relations.
• Fluent in Hindi and English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of MV Raghuvansh including guest services, dining and housekeeping.
• Coordinate with Captain/Master, engineering, service staff, housekeeping and F&B for smooth cruise operations.
• Ensure timely departures, smooth boarding and high service standards.
• Monitor restaurant and F&B quality, inventory and hygiene.
• Manage staff rosters, attendance, discipline, training and performance.
• Develop SOPs across guest service, F&B, housekeeping and safety.
• Prepare daily and monthly operational reports for management.

Role & Responsibilities

Nirvana River Cruises LLP is looking for an experienced General Manager Operations to lead and manage its premium river cruise and hospitality operations in Varanasi.

The GM will be responsible for the smooth day‑to‑day functioning of the company’s cruise, hospitality and guest‑service operations, with direct responsibility for service standards, staff performance, operational discipline and cost control.

Key responsibilities include:

• Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of MV Raghuvansh, including guest services, dining, housekeeping and onboard hospitality.
• Supervise and coordinate with the Captain/Master, engineering team, service staff, housekeeping and F&B teams for smooth cruise operations.
• Ensure timely departures, smooth boarding, high service standards and excellent guest experience.
• Oversee restaurant and F&B operations, including service quality, inventory control, wastage and hygiene.
• Supervise housekeeping standards for onboard cabins, public areas and guest facilities.
• Coordinate hospitality operations at Namo Ghat, including the premium Suites and dining operations.
• Manage staff rosters, attendance, discipline, training and performance.
• Develop and implement SOPs across guest service, F&B, housekeeping, safety and daily operations.
• Monitor operating expenses, fuel usage, consumables, inventory and vendor performance.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and ensure operational issues are resolved promptly.
• Handle guest complaints and ensure effective service recovery.
• Coordinate closely with Sales, Reservations and Accounts teams.
• Prepare daily and monthly operational reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements and applicable operational regulations.
• Maintain a premium hospitality standard across all Nirvana River Cruises operations.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 8–12 years of experience in hotel, resort, cruise or premium hospitality operations.
• Prior experience in a senior operational role such as General Manager, Operations Manager, Hotel Manager or Resident Manager is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of F&B, housekeeping, guest relations and hospitality operations.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and multiple departments.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in Hindi and English.
• Commercially aware, with a strong focus on cost control and operational efficiency.
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on operational environment.
• Graduate in any discipline; Hotel Management / Hospitality Management qualification preferred.

Compensation
