Job summary

RKB Global Flux is seeking a logistics professional to manage container bookings and shipment coordination for FOB imports into India. The role requires close liaison with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and CHAs to secure rates and space, plus monitoring schedules and documentation.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs regulations, and DGFT policies, with proficiency in shipping software and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Book containers from origin ports to India for FOB shipments.

• Manage import documentation (B/L, Invoice, Packing List).
• Oversee CFS/ICD operations and ensure timely gate-out.

Role & responsibilities

Container Booking & Shipment Coordination

• Book containers from various origin ports worldwide to India for FOB shipments
• Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and NVOCCs to secure competitive freight rates and space
• Track shipment schedules, vessel ETAs/ETDs, and proactively resolve delays or rollovers
• Coordinate with overseas suppliers/vendors on shipment readiness and documentation

Customs Clearance

• Manage end-to-end import customs clearance processes ensuring compliance with Indian Customs regulations (Customs Act, FTP, DGFT guidelines)
• Coordinate with Customs House Agents (CHAs) for Bill of Entry filing, duty assessment, and cargo examination
• Ensure accurate HS classification, duty calculation, and applicability of exemptions/concessions
• Handle DGFT-related documentation (IEC, licenses, RoDTEP, EPCG, Advance Authorization, etc. as applicable)
• Resolve customs queries, assessments, and clearance bottlenecks

CFS (Container Freight Station) Operations

• Oversee cargo handling, de-stuffing, and storage at CFS/ICDs
• Monitor container detention and demurrage; take proactive steps to minimize costs
• Coordinate with CFS operators for examination, sampling, and cargo release
• Ensure timely gate-out and last-mile delivery coordination

Documentation & Compliance

• Manage import documentation: Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Insurance, etc.
• Ensure compliance with FEMA, FTP, and other regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory reporting

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, CHAs, CFS/ICD operators, and transporters
• Negotiate freight, handling, and clearance charges to optimize logistics costs
• Coordinate internally with procurement, finance, and warehouse teams

Cost & MIS Management

• Monitor and control logistics costs (freight, customs duty, CFS, demurrage/detention)
• Prepare MIS reports on shipment status, cost analysis, and turnaround times

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong understanding of Incoterms (especially FOB), customs procedures, and import regulations
• Working knowledge of DGFT policies, Customs Act, and FTP
• Proficiency in shipping/logistics software and MS Excel
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
• Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities
