Job summary

Reliance Industries (RIL) is seeking a seasoned Document Control and Data Governance Specialist to structure document flows, maintain version control, and ensure traceability of project records across clean energy initiatives. You will manage centralized repositories and ensure all stakeholders access the latest, approved documents for planning, estimation and execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Engineering preferred).
  • 6–9 years of experience in document control, data management, or project coordination within clean energy, oil & gas, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of document control systems, versioning and approval workflows.
  • Experience with document management systems (DMS), EDMS platforms, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of project documentation including drawings, reports, contracts and financial records.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy and traceability.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage document flows across functions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Structure document flow, numbering systems, and version control protocols to enable timely inputs for planning, estimation and execution.
  • Maintain centralized document repositories for drawings, reports, schedules and project records to ensure accessibility and consistency.
  • Control document versioning, approvals and revisions to ensure stakeholders access only the latest validated information.
  • Maintain controlled records of financial documents including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and related approvals to support auditability.
  • Maintain and update risk registers, interface logs, approval records and change logs to ensure traceability of project decisions and actions.
  • Control report versions and supporting documentation to maintain consistency between reported data and source records.
  • Share latest approved documents with stakeholders to ensure alignment on current data, drawings and reports.
  • Maintain audit trails, document approval workflows and revision histories to support governance, compliance and review requirements.
  • Validate document completeness, format and approval status before release to ensure data integrity and usability.
  • Maintain regulatory, statutory and ESG-related documents and approvals in structured and controlled systems.
  • Provide validated and approved documents required for decision-making, reviews and governance forums.
  • Implement and manage document management systems (DMS) to improve accessibility, retrieval efficiency and control.
  • Track document submission, review and approval cycles to ensure timely availability of inputs for project controls functions.
  • Coordinate with planning, cost, risk and reporting teams to ensure required documents are available and aligned with project timelines.
  • Maintain document registers, logs, and trackers to monitor status, pending approvals and revisions.
  • Capture recurring document issues, delays and gaps to improve document control processes and workflows.
