Qualifications

• B.Com / M.Com / B.Sc. qualification.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management desirable.
• 10+ years of experience in Stores/Materials Management in Automobile, Engineering, or Manufacturing.
• Strong experience in stores operations, inventory, material movement, and multi-location stores.
• Good knowledge of FIFO, inventory control, stock reconciliation, GRN, subcontracting, scrap management, 5S, and audit compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Stores team across multiple locations.
• Oversee material receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, and issue to production and other departments.
• Ensure 100% accuracy in material receipt and timely GRN generation.
• Maintain proper storage, identification, preservation, and arrangement of materials.
• Ensure timely material issue to production and other users; monitor shortages and take corrective actions.
• Ensure 100% stock accuracy through inventory control and FIFO compliance.
• Manage subcontracting materials and scrap movement; ensure timely disposal per procedures.
• Ensure 5S, safety, audit compliance, and EHS/QMS adherence across stores.

Job description

To manage the overall Stores function, covering material receipt, storage, preservation, inventory management, and material issue for raw materials, packaging materials, components, maintenance spares, and other store items.

The position will be responsible for ensuring 100% stock accuracy, proper storage and preservation, FIFO compliance, subcontracting material management, vehicle management, and reconciliation activities.

The role will also ensure compliance with QMS, EHS/EOHS, 5S, statutory audit requirements, and effective management of multi-location stores.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

A. Stores Operations & Material Management

• Overall responsibility for the multi-location Stores function.
• Manage the complete material flow from receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, and issue to production and other departments.
• Ensure 100% accuracy in material receipt and timely generation of GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes).
• Ensure proper storage, identification, preservation, and systematic arrangement of all materials.
• Ensure timely material issue to production and other users.
• Monitor material shortages and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure 100% stock accuracy through effective inventory control systems.
• Ensure adherence to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and shelf-life requirements for applicable materials.
• Manage DOL/KANBAN materials and ensure uninterrupted material availability.

B. Inventory Management

• Conduct monthly perpetual inventory/stock verification.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve stock variances.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper reconciliation.
• Prepare and maintain Stores MIS and participate in weekly review meetings.

C. Subcontracting & Scrap Management

• Manage subcontracting activities, including material movement and documentation.
• Ensure timely monthly reconciliation of subcontracted materials.
• Establish effective controls over scrap movement.
• Ensure timely disposal of scrap materials as per company procedures and applicable requirements.

D. Compliance, Safety & Systems

• Maintain 5S, safety, and housekeeping standards within the Stores area.
• Ensure compliance with QMS and EHS/EOHS requirements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and internal audit requirements.
• Implement and maintain appropriate controls for material handling, storage, and movement.
• Ensure proper vehicle/material movement management.

E. Team & Multi-Location Management

• Lead and manage the Stores team across multiple locations.
• Allocate responsibilities effectively and monitor team performance.
• Develop team capabilities through training and on-the-job guidance.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality, Finance, and other functions to ensure smooth material flow.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Stores function.

Qualification & Experience Required

• B.Com / M.Com / B.Sc. qualification.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management is desirable.
• 10+years of experience in Stores/Materials Management, preferably in the Automobile, Engineering, or Manufacturing industry.
