Job summary

Plantsship is seeking a disciplined Civil Engineer with hands-on experience in site execution and hardscaping. You will supervise paving, kerb laying and outdoor works, read AutoCAD drawings, and ensure quantities align with BOQs.

You will coordinate with project teams, manage manpower and materials, and maintain daily progress records to support timely handovers and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 3-7 years of relevant experience in civil site execution or hardscaping.
• Practical experience in paving, kerb laying, pathways and outdoor civil works.
• Ability to interpret AutoCAD drawings and understand BOQs.
• Knowledge of quantity calculations, site measurements and material planning.
• Good manpower handling, coordination and reporting skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Role & responsibilities

1. Civil & Hardscaping Execution

• Supervise interlocking pavers, natural stone paving, kerb stones, pathways, edging, steps, ramps, retaining walls and planters.
• Manage subgrade preparation, base layers, compaction, levels, slopes, alignment and finishing.
• Execute work according to approved drawings, BOQs, specifications and project schedules.
• Coordinate civil works with landscaping, irrigation and plantation teams.

2. AutoCAD Drawings & Technical Skills

• Read and interpret AutoCAD drawings, layouts, sections and construction details.
• Understand dimensions, levels, slopes and setting-out requirements.
• Verify site dimensions and identify drawing discrepancies before execution.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager for technical clarifications and drawing revisions.

3. BOQ, Measurements & Quantity Estimation

• Understand BOQs, specifications and item descriptions.
• Calculate quantities for pavers, kerb stones, stone, sand, aggregates, concrete and other materials.
• Prepare site measurement sheets and track completed quantities against BOQ.
• Support the QS & Billing team with running bills, subcontractor measurements and final billing.
• Identify variations and obtain approval before executing additional work.

4. Manpower & Subcontractor Management

• Allocate daily work to masons, paver layers, helpers and subcontractors.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, workmanship and daily output.
• Plan manpower requirements and minimise idle time and rework.
• Maintain daily manpower and progress reports.

5. Material Planning & Cost Control

• Prepare material requirements and raise timely material requisitions.
• Coordinate with procurement and stores for material availability.
• Monitor material receipts, consumption, balance stock and wastage.
• Ensure efficient use of materials and control avoidable costs.

6. Quality, Safety & Documentation

• Inspect levels, slopes, alignment, joint widths and finishing quality.
• Ensure proper compaction and base preparation as specified.
• Follow site safety procedures and ensure appropriate PPE usage.
• Maintain daily progress reports, site photographs, measurement sheets, material records and inspection checklists.
• Support snag-list closure, client inspections and project handover.

7. Planning & Coordination

• Prepare daily and weekly work plans.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Operations Manager, QS, procurement and other site teams.
• Monitor planned versus actual progress and report delays promptly.
• Participate in daily site reviews and weekly operational meetings.

Preferred candidate profile

Salary & Compensation

• Monthly salary: 25,000-30,000.
• Annualised salary budget: 3.00-3.60 LPA.
• Final CTC will depend on the agreed salary structure and applicable employer contributions.

We are looking for a disciplined, technically sound and accountable professional who can independently manage assigned site activities, interpret drawings, supervise workers and maintain proper execution documentation.

Candidates with experience in landscaping, infrastructure, real estate, external development or hardscaping projects will be preferred.
