Nibe Defence in Pune is seeking a Senior Manager Civil to lead civil construction and infrastructure projects, balancing site execution with project coordination and team leadership.
You will oversee planning, estimation, BOQ, cost control, quality and safety across industrial plants, offices and utilities, coordinating with contractors and stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery.
B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering; M.Tech / MBA in Project Management preferred
The Senior Manager Civil will be responsible for planning, execution, supervision, monitoring and successful completion of civil construction and infrastructure projects within approved timelines, budgets, quality and safety standards. The role will combine hands‑on site execution with project coordination and team leadership, depending on project scale and business requirements.
The incumbent will manage civil activities across industrial plants, factories, office buildings, utilities, infrastructure and expansion projects, while coordinating with contractors, consultants, vendors and internal stakeholders.
Plan, execute and monitor civil construction and infrastructure projects from initiation through completion.
Supervise day‑to‑day civil construction activities and ensure progress as per approved schedules and milestones.
Prepare or review project plans, construction schedules, resource requirements and execution strategies.
Handle greenfield, brownfield, expansion, renovation and infrastructure development projects.
Monitor project progress and resolve site‑level execution bottlenecks and technical issues.
Ensure projects are completed within approved scope, cost, quality and timelines.
Review civil and structural drawings, BOQs, specifications, estimates and technical documentation.
Ensure construction is carried out as per approved drawings, designs, specifications and applicable standards.
Handle RCC, structural works, industrial foundations, PEB civil works, roads, drainage, utilities and finishing works.
Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, PMC, MEP teams and other engineering functions.
Provide technical guidance for critical civil and structural activities and support resolution of site issues.
Review design changes and recommend technically and commercially viable solutions.
Review BOQs, quantity estimates, rate analysis, contractor quotations and commercial proposals.
Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and civil CAPEX.
Verify site measurements, quantities, RA bills and final bills.
Monitor variations, additional works, claims and cost escalations.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and value engineering without compromising quality or safety.
Coordinate with and monitor civil contractors, consultants and vendors.
Monitor manpower, machinery, materials, productivity, quality, safety and contractor performance.
Conduct regular contractor review meetings and follow up on action points.
Ensure contractors comply with contractual, quality, safety and statutory requirements.
Coordinate with Procurement/Commercial teams for contractor and vendor‑related requirements.
Ensure civil works meet required quality standards and approved specifications.
Conduct regular site inspections and support quality audits.
Ensure proper testing, inspection and quality documentation.
Drive timely closure of NCRs, observations, snag points and punch lists.
Ensure compliance with EHS requirements, PPE, work permits, excavation, height‑work, lifting and other site safety procedures.
Coordinate for applicable statutory approvals, NOCs and construction‑related permissions.
Prepare DPRs and periodic project progress reports for management review.
Track planned vs. actual progress, project cost, material availability, contractor performance, quality, safety and critical risks.
Develop corrective and recovery plans for delayed activities.
Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
Coordinate with Projects, Production, Maintenance, Procurement, Finance, EHS, Admin and Management.
Ensure civil activities have minimum impact on ongoing plant/business operations.
Coordinate with government/local authorities wherever required for project execution and approvals.
Lead and guide civil engineers, project managers, supervisors and site teams as applicable.
Allocate responsibilities and establish clear accountability for project deliverables.
Review team performance and build technical capabilities through coaching and mentoring.
Strong experience in industrial, factory, plant construction and infrastructure projects.
Candidates with either strong hands‑on site execution experience or broader project management/leadership experience will be considered.
Strong knowledge of civil construction, RCC, structural works, foundations, PEB, roads, drainage, utilities and finishing works.
Good understanding of project planning, estimation, BOQ, quantity surveying, billing, contracts and cost control.
Experience in contractor, consultant and vendor management.
Good understanding of construction quality systems, EHS requirements and statutory compliance.
Strong leadership, coordination, negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Willingness to travel and work across project locations as required.
