About Curaniks

Curaniks helps international patients — starting with families from Afghanistan — get treated at NABH/JCI accredited hospitals in Delhi NCR. We are the opposite of the informal agent market: written multi-hospital opinions, transparent pricing, no hidden commissions, and a hand to hold from the first WhatsApp message to recovery back home. We are a small founding team; this role is one of its three pillars, alongside our patient-facing agent in Afghanistan and our visa travel partner in India.

The role

You are the bridge between the patient and the hospital. You own every case end-to-end: you take the enquiry our Afghanistan agent sends, get treatment opinions and cost estimates from hospital International Patient Departments (IPDs), connect the family to the right specialist, drive the visa invitation paperwork with our travel partner, and stay on the case until the patient is treated, billed fairly, and home. Everything is hands-on and manual in this phase — WhatsApp, phone calls, email, spreadsheets, and hospital corridors. You will build the processes a platform later automates.

What you will do

  • Own the case file: receive enquiries from our Afghanistan agent, assemble complete medical files (reports, scans, passports), and keep every case organised and current.
  • Work hospital IPDs daily: submit case files to 2–3 partner hospitals, obtain written treatment opinions and itemised cost estimates within 72 hours, chase, compare, and verify them — you are the person IPD managers know by name.
  • Arrange doctor connects: schedule video consultations between the family and the treating specialist (with interpreter), and prepare both sides so the call counts.
  • Drive visa paperwork: obtain the hospital invitation letter (24-hour target), hand a complete, correct file to our visa travel partner, and track every application to decision.
  • Coordinate the India stay: admissions, appointments, and discharge; keep the family (and our Afghanistan agent) updated daily; review interim and final hospital bills line-by-line against the estimate and flag every variance.
  • Keep score: maintain the case tracker, weekly status of every patient in the funnel, and flag anything stuck against our service promises (2-hour first response, 72-hour opinion, 24-hour visa letter).
  • Protect patients and the company: handle medical records confidentially, follow our compliance rules (no clinical advice, no cash handling of treatment money, no kickbacks — ever), and elevate anything that smells wrong.

What you must bring

  • 5+ years working in or with hospital International Patient Departments — medical tourism facilitation, hospital IPD, TPA/insurance desk, or international patient relations. You know how NCR IPDs actually work and ideally know people in them.
  • Comfort with medical documents: you can read a discharge summary, know an angiography from an MRI, and can summarise a case file for a busy IPD manager.
  • Fluent English and Hindi; strong written communication (your emails and WhatsApp messages are the company’s face).
  • Documentation discipline: visas, checklists, trackers, follow-ups — nothing slips.
  • Empathy under pressure: you will work with frightened families making the biggest decisions of their lives.

What sets candidates apart

  • Medical or hospital qualification/experience strongly preferred: nursing, paramedical, pharmacy, physiotherapy, hospital administration — or years working inside a hospital in any patient-facing capacity.
  • Dari, Pashto, Farsi or Arabic language ability.
  • Experience with Afghan, Middle Eastern or Central Asian patients.
  • Existing working relationships with IPD teams at Max, Apollo, Fortis, BLK-Max, Medanta or Artemis.

How we work

  • Honesty is the product: if a patient does not need to travel, we tell them so. If a hospital bill is wrong, we challenge it. Our reputation in Kabul is built on what you do in Delhi.
  • Patient data is sacred: records live in our systems, never in personal phones; confidentiality agreement required.
  • You will help design the playbook: your SOPs and trackers become the blueprint for the platform our tech team builds next.
